A/N I do have a chapter that I might add, it would be when Peeta is getting hijacked for the first time. Please R&R and tell me if I should add another chapter.
I jerk my head up when I hear the guards open the door. Johanna lets out a small whimper as they thrust her into the cell. When the guard has closed the door, I stand up and guide her to the wall I was sitting at. "What did they do to you?" I ask.
"They filled a room up with water, then shot a pulse of electricity through it," I cringe. Johanna just shrugs "They could do much worse, things to me." She she says this I notice her eyes, they are sad, they are pained.
"I feel horrible, you have had all the torture, and I haven't done anything but sit here."
"Peeta, if they can use you against her… anything they can do to break you," she exhales.
"I guess not seeing her, not knowing if she is ok, that, that is a prison in itself" I say tears filling my eyes. Johanna doesn't say anything. She just strokes my hand.
Maybe it would be easier if I forgot about Katniss. If maybe I didn't care. I quickly push this thought out of my mind, it is outrageous to even think about something like that.
I cradle Johanna or a few more minutes before, I hear a guard's step coming down the hall. I think this can't be for Johanna it's too soon. My thoughts stop when the guard reaches the door. "Peeta," he calls. A shock wave goes through me, before I place Johanna in the arms of the wall. I stand up and walk across the cell. The guard takes my arm in his grasp and half guides, half drags me towards a closed off room. I see no torture weapons, but a huddle of people.
My prep team. I see Portia, Tromson, Vanria, and Manston. Portia looks up when she hears the sound that escapes my lips. The guard finally lets go of my arm I run into Portia's arms and stay there for as long as I can. "What's happening?" I ask.
"We are here to get you ready, for T.V," she replies.
"But.." I am interrupted by an avox. She hands me a piece of paper. I read the words over and over again. "Script for Peeta Mellark," reads the title. I finally understand what I will be doing.
I will be delivering a message to the rebels.
Portia takes my hand in hers and sits me down in the chair. I let my prep team make me look like I haven't been in a prison, for God knows how long. I try and memorize my script while they add pounds of make up to my face. After about an hour Portia tells my prep team they are finished. They all nod at me before they leave. I don't know what I could to acknowledge it. Portia and I sit in silence until a guard comes and takes me to where I will have the interview.
We arrive at a familiar room, a room I have been before.
It is the interview room. I see Caesar waiting for me. He is dressed in a midnight blue suit, with his lips looking puffier then ever. The guard motions me towards the chair directly across from Caesar, I take my seat and wait for the cameras to turn on.
After a few minutes the cameraman counts the seconds on his fingers, when he finally points to Caser, Caesar starts his introduction then turns to me. We share a few lighthearted sentences, and then he asks me if there is anything I would like to say to the rebels.
I take a big sigh, then begin.
