Abigail Lincoln, Made of Honor, raised her glass and gave a toast.

She winked "To da Groom!" An echo could be heard from the crowd

"To da Bride!" Again echoes

"It is my honah' to toast the union of my sista', Cree and her new bo Hoagie! May you always be satisfied!"

The room cheers!

'I'll never forget the first time I saw his face' She reminisced

****Flashback****

Abigail Lincoln was bored; her family drug her out to one to her father's lame ol Doctor's Conventions. She scanned the ball room, hoping to find something or 'someone' to entertain her for the evening. Turing back to her table she sighed, nothing of interest, but her older sister Cree sitting beside her. Though they were civil toward each other, she wouldn't say that they were 'close', but they practically knew everything about each other.

"What's up lil' sis? Not like you to be so out of it."

"It's nothing sis, Abby just wished she was at least chilling with people her own age. Not that Abby don't love her family… but this bites."

"Oh come on Abby it isn't that bad, at least the music is decent, maybe you can catch a dance with somebody."

"Pssh as if, most of these dudes are old… Abby wish daddy wouldn't bring us to these functions."

As Abby sat brooding, the band kept playing and the night went on. The ball room doors burst open, as a group of military men strolled in. Apparently they were a part of the ceremony; Dr. Lincoln was being presented a medical award on behalf of the military. The room quieted down as the national anthem began to play, most stood while others removed their hats, watching the color guard march down the aisle to the podium. The colors were posted and the ceremony commenced with Dr. Lincoln receiving his award, then the party resumed as before. Again Abby scanned the room hoping for something to have changed within the past hour. He eyes lands on the gaggle of military men, roughhousing around the refreshments. Though one man stood out to her, he was tall, not lanky but he had a girth to him of a man who use to weight a lot more. His auburn hair was cut in a medium fade that did nothing to distract from his thick glasses.

'Hmm, Abby thinks this would be betta' then sittin' around with these stuffy ol farts' Getting up she heads over to the throng of guys.

Before she could even say a word, he breathe "Well hello beautiful. How are you this evening?

"Charming baby, and you?"

He laughed "Baby? Do you call everyone that, or just those you like?"

She giggled "That's for Abby to know and you to find out, baby."

He smiled "Abby is it? Well, I'm Hoagie… Hoagie P. Gilligan Jr."

Her breath caught… it took her a minute to remember her name; she was caught in his dazzling smile.

"A…A...Abigail Lincoln, it's a pleasure to meet ya Sugah." She reached out her hand to shake his.

He instead took her hand and planted a kiss on her hand, "The pleasure is all mine." He winked

They continued to talk, mostly menial things, family, and their interests. However, Hoagie was very tight lipped about his family, only mentioning that he had a little brother. Abby talked a bit about her own family.

"Yea baby, the only reason Abby is here is because Abby's dad got an award."

"Oh… I should have figured that Dr. Lincoln was your father. I owe that man my life! He saved our commander when a bullet was lodged in his lung while we were deployed. If he hadn't been there our platoon would have surely been wiped out."

"Dang, Abby didn't think it was something so important, dad never said anything about why he was gettin' an award." She confessed

"Well, I guess he is a humble man, just glad to have done his job. So, do you think you will follow in his footsteps? I know you mentioned earlier about maybe going into nursing." He wondered

"Abby don't really know, she suppose so, but it just don't feel right to Abby, ya know? Abby feels like she could be doing something better with her life."

He smirked "You know you don't seem like the type to be satisfied easily."

She raised an eyebrow "Excuse me…? Wha'd you mean by that Sugah?"

"Well like me, I've never been satisfied. No matter what I do, there is always something more that I feel I need to be doing. I mean I joined the military to be a pilot, but I think there is more out there for me… I don't know what exactly, but I do know it's out there." He tried to explain as easily as he could

'Wow dis man, understands Abby well. Neva has Abby talk to someone who just got her.'

Abby was just about to ask Hoagie to dance, seeing as the band was still playing. The music was loud and there were people everywhere. She looked up and noticed her sister siting there looking helplessly at her companion. Realizing the look of longing, she knew she would regret the decision she was about to make. Taking Hoagie's hand she pulls him across the room.

He chuckles "Whoa slow down, where are you taking me?" he queried

"Baby, I'm about to change yo life."

"By all means lead the way" He smirked

Her sister eyes her as she brings over the handsome stranger. As they reach the table, he is the first to speak.

"Hello Gorgeous."

"Hey to you… I'm Cree, Cree Lincoln."

"Lincoln?" He questioned

"My sista'" Abby replied

"Thank you for your service." Cree acknowledged

"If it takes a war for us to meet, it will have been worth it. Also your dad saving our butts." He chuckled

"I'll leave ya'll to it." She waved walking back toward wince she came

She knew she wouldn't have normally done something like that for her sister, but she felt she needed to do something nice. Ever since Cree's rough break up with Maurice, she wasn't as happy as she use to be. Abby didn't fully expect Cree to do the same for her, but if she told her sister that she liked Hoagie, she might have backed off. At least she couldn't say Abby never done anything for her. Abby continued to the refreshments table to drink away her brief love …

****Present****

She sighs 'Sometimes Abby still can't get him out her head. He's all Abby thinks about…Well at least he will still be in Abby's life. Although he can neva belong to Abby…'

Again she shouts

"To da Groom!...To da Bride! May you always be satisfied!" Signaling the end of her speech

Cheers erupts once again

'Cree can finally be happy… Though Abby knows he'll neva be satisfied.' She thinks trying to keep her face together while this whole union was tearing her apart.

'I'll neva be satisfied…"
