"
Brennan rang the bell at the Hodgins' residence and waited for someone to answer the door. A minute later Angela opened the door. "Sweetie! It's good to see someone that I can converse with!" Brennan chuckled and went inside. "Angela, I'm sure it hasn't been that bad, Michael is only a week old."
"It's not; it's just that Hodgins is being needlessly over protective of me and panicking over every little noise Michael makes."
"He just loves the both of you."
"I know. It's sweet, but also annoying!"
Brennan smiled, "Where are they?"
"I sent Hodgins to Cantilever for the afternoon, I needed a break. "Michael is in his bassinet. Go have a seat I was just getting something to drink Tea?"
"Water please." Angela nodded and headed to the kitchen. A few minutes later Angela smiled at Brennan standing over the bassinet staring at Michael. She sat both glasses of water on the end table and walked over to them. "Bren, you want to hold him?" Brennan nodded. "Go sit, I'll bring him to you." Brennan nodded and went to the couch.
Angela reached into the bassinet and lifted Michael out, "come on sweetie; let's go see your auntie Bren. Please try not to spontaneously expel bodily fluids on her while she's holding you. She's used to gross things, but what you did to daddy this morning was beyond gross."
Angela walked over to the couch and settled Michael in Brennan's arms." got him?"
"Yeah."
Angela sat in the chair across from Brennan and watched her stare at Michael and trace his tiny hand with her finger.
"So Bren when are you due?"
Brennan's head snapped up, "What? How?"
Angela chuckled, "Bren, up until last Thursday I was pregnant, I know what the signs are. Plus you haven't taken your eyes of Michael since you got here. You're glowing, your gait has started to change and you turned down caffeine."
Brennan smiled, "New Year's day, by my calculations. I'm going to the doctor for conformation on Monday."
"When did find out?"
"The day Michael was born; I took the test before I came to the hospital and told Booth on the way home." Angela quietly squealed, Brennan grinned.
"So the baby is Booth's."
"Yeah…the baby was conceived the night Vincent was killed…."
"Oh Bren… it'll be okay…"
"We were so consumed by grief that it just happened…."
'Brennan this baby was not a mistake neither is you and booth being together. It was a long 6 years in coming…."
"I know and so does Booth, he's deliriously happy."
"Are you happy?"
"Yes, but I find that I'm very …scared…"
"Brennan you're supposed to feel that way, taking care of a tiny human is scary. The good thing is you've got Booth to help you and he's been through this before. You're going to need Booth's help before the Baby gets here and a lot after. Let him help you."
"I'm trying, but it's hard. He was being needlessly over protective this morning after the morning sickness hit….and there was nothing he can do for me other than bring me ginger ale and crackers."
"So let him, you're not in this by yourself."
"I will…Ange what if I can't do this?"
"Sweetie, I thought I couldn't do it either then Michael was born and it all kicked in. You can practice with Michael if you want."
"Maybe I will…" they fell into silence and Brennan got captivated with Michael again and Angela slipped out her phone and snapped a picture, sending it to Booth, with 'congratulations Booth' under it. An hour later Michael began to fuss and Brennan took that as her cue to leave. She passed Hodgins on the sidewalk, "Congratulations Brennan, you're going to be a great mom."
Brennan smiled mentally kicking herself for thinking she could hide being pregnant from a bunch of genius scientists. "Thanks Hodgins."
