He held her hand all the way home, neither of them would let go, just for fear of losing each other. They wanted desperately to go to sleep on the zeppelin, but they feared waking up with out each other. So they remained awake, against their better judgment and just watched the scenery pass below them. It would only be another hour before they got home and they would go their separate ways to their separate rooms and they would never speak of it again. But neither of them wanted that.
They had done as predicted but neither could sleep. Rose was sitting in the red leather chair, the one with the foot rest, but she didn't want it right now, she wanted closeness, comfort, but it wouldn't happen. She watched the fire burn next to her for a while, she didn't notice when a dark figure stopped at the door frame, and she didn't notice when a tear slipped from her eye.
He grabbed the boxy looking foot rest and pulled it in front of her and sat down, trying to smile to her.
"I'm so, so sorry Rose." She had her knees drawn up to her chest and her hair was probably all over the place now, but she didn't care.
"It's not your fault."
"Yes it is." She shook her head. "You don't want me here, I understand, okay? I do. I'm not him, I'm not a fit for a Goddess of Time. I know, Rose." She shook her head.
"I'm just not sure right now, about anything!" She started crying harder.
"Rose, I'm sorry." She shrugs.
"I love you." She mumbles into her knees.
"I love you, too, Rose." He had his hands together and he smiled weakly to Rose. She lifted her head and gave a small smile in return. "I love you so much." She was now grinning behind her hands and knees at him. He was smiling at her genuinely now, but they just stayed still, looking at each other. Neither wanted to break the moment, but he held out his hand and she took it. He led her to his bed room and she didn't hesitate to enter behind him.
