Pseudo Styles: A Naruto Fanfiction Volume 1: The Three Traumas Chapters 1-3
This story must neither inconvenience nor discredit the original story. Do not sponsor fanfiction.
As of September 4th 12:00 AM I decided to do something I'm pretty sure authors aren't supposed to do very often. Until recently I assumed that the statistics of this stories view counter was because people decided this story wasn't worth pursuing. I finally discovered why so many people were tapping out during this chapter. When I finally started this story my ability to sustain a plot-line was still developing. I just reviewed the content and dear god it was crap. My apologies for not noticing this sooner. In my defense between all sixteen volumes I have gotten two reviews. They word for word read: "This made little sense." And "Looks cool" Both reviews were written for volume one. I posted over half a dozen chapters in a single day and got that much criticism in the past week and a half. Sorry if I sound ungrateful. Apparently I sound like that more often than I intend to allow. Anyway By the time you're reading this I will have removed the static and buffed the lines. I hope this works.

Though the storyline is finished there ARE points where the story wasn't reaching it's full potential. I'm not just talking about OC lore either.
There's some moments that I could have elaborated on had I known why/how/what to do with them. I'll put some thought into whether or not I can confidently add new scenes to this story, but for such scenes I'd really want to answer to requests.
Again author based back reading typically only reveals some of our mistakes. I've only got two eyes, and they've mostly become familiar with my style and standards. That said It really bothers me that I likely made hundreds of errors and 'whoops!' moments in this generation that I didn't have the bandwidth to apply my inner 'grammar nazi' against. The 'Kumo/Iwa? vs. Hyuga' was rather…amusing to a degree, but it definitely would have set people off. A reviewer managed to track down where I made those mistakes and quite elegantly requested clarification.

CRACK
Alpha rolls his shoulders, cracks his neck, elbows and fingers, "Well, I did the unthinkable again. I read my own fic. Low and behold, my standards for writing have risen further from the shinigami's clutches and I'm no longer content with the quality of this chapter. Let me see what my Qi can do for this dilapidated chapter. Hell, I should probably proof read chapter 2 as well. I'm really agitated that I dropped the plural mid-scene. Sure it was getting old but that was just lazy of me. Granted; my Qi was still in a noose back then.
===Volume 1===
—Chapter 1: Blessings of the fallen ghosts—
The Kyubi
A colossal beast with the appearance of both fox and hare with nine massive tails, each capable of cleaning a forest off of a mountain.
Presently halted in the destruction of a shinobi village by two individuals, both sealmasters and members of endangered clans:
Kushina Uzumaki - Former host of the nine tailed fox. Last known survivor of the Uzumaki clan.
Minato Namikaze - Current Hokage of the leaf village. Last surviving member of the Namikaze clan.
Despite having arrested the Nine-tails' attack on the leaf village; the beast had to be sealed in a new host now that Kushina's seal was broken. Unfortunately, the only potential candidate was the last surviving member of both clans: Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze. Having lost the original method for sealing the nine tails; Minato had resorted to a far more dire method:
The 'Shiki Fuujin'required the castors soul be sacrificed to the keeper of the damned; the Shinigami.
"We'll have none of that. We have everything we need right here. To protect these children and those they love. That is our mission, and we will not fail."
—One dying declaration later—
…"Sorry Mina-kun, I took up most your time," Kushina's words were overflowing from the emotional strain of leaving their child as well as the physical strain of breathing around a stray claw of the Kyubi that had the two pinned.
Directly behind her on the same intrusion Minato became increasingly anxious, "Kushina you're gonna have to suffice. Something is fighting me. The Shinigami specter keeps vanishing and reappearing."
Kushina tensed when a pulsing glow on Naruto's naval caught her attention, "The seal! Minato somethings wrong!"
With measured panic Minato glanced at the seal…for the split second before the area was swallowed by a flash-bomb like glare, "What the hell?!"
A.N: "Alright; Time to overhaul!"
The white glare faded from their eyes as a massive chamber became visible. Two colossal intersecting disks formed an X that held the majority of the space. Seven stones aligned in the center of the chamber. Three of which burned with an aggravated flame.
An eighth stone flickered into view and the Shinigami specter appeared atop the pillar. Spotting the summoner of the technique; the Shinigami launched from the 'perch' and honed in on the two shinobi.
Minato paled as the invoked deity drew a dagger from a sheath and raised a bead covered arm.
Before the Shinigami reached them however; An orb coated with black and white ripples appeared and burst into an unholy flame. The construct looked up and leveled his KI. The three burning orbs from the center swooped in like falcons. And appeared at the Ghost's side.
The ghost looked up at the other four and the remaining orbs gave a pale glow before a pained howl resounded.
The shinigami noted the sounds before one of the orbs blasted a wave of chakra.
The specter released an aggravated howl that sounded much like a wailing mountain.
The black and white ghost seemed to narrow unseen eyes at the Shinigami and snarled, 'These two are within our sights. You will not deny us our within our own domain.'
The shinigami specter remained motionless for a number of minutes. The deity finally relented.
The construct approached the two Konoha shinobi and asked in a weary voice, "You were sealed by Mito Uzumaki; Yes?"
Kushina's voice was essentially heard from the same position where Minato perceived himself, "What are you?"
The creature seemed to hesitate.
Meanwhile the three orbs made their way back to the 'pillar' at the center of the chamber. As they entered their local areas; a large amount of energy began to circulate around and between the orbs. The energy slowing around the darkened regions.
Noting the energy the construct answered, "You may call us 'Vii'. We are host to kindred spirits. Spirits that in turn support us as we develop. This is - In context of your homeland - our mindscape. At this moment, the outer world is slowed to a crawl. You were given a seal by Mito; yes or no?"
Kushina shook her head agitatedly, "Yes, but now it is useless."
The construct shook its head, "It will suffice."
Minato, despite his patience was beginning to become desperate, "Why does it matter if we have it? That seal can't be repaired."
The creature developed a pensive look, "We can use the KI from the original seal to imbue the boy with a kindred technique. We cannot replicate the original technique but, by imbuing your spirits to the technique, we can provoke an alternative seal to contain the entirety of the Kyubi's chakra as well as anchor your souls to his body…albeit rather limited."
Minato voiced quickly, "You can do that?!"
The construct nodded, "Yes. However the presence of your souls may have an after-effect on the boy in his early years. For example every jinchuriki exhibits traits from their respective biju. Naruto is already receiving the mark of the kyubi as we speak."
Kushina narrowed her gaze, "What kind of mark?"
"Three scars on each cheek. They signify that he is inheriting the first ability of the nine-tails. The kyubi's regenerating ability. Our current concern is the effect your chakra may have on him. Chakra has an effect on a humans development - Albeit a very subtle one - and yours may produce a similar mark after enduring exposure."
Minato paused as he assessed the concept, "How soon can you start?"
The entity nodded, "As soon as you are ready."
A.N: Alpha groans, "Sorry about this major cut, but I think the tail end of this scene was more confusing that informative or sentimental."
—Outside—
As Hiruzen Sarutobi arrived at the sealing site he was shocked to see the bodies of Kushina Uzumaki, Minato Namikaze, and the colossal form of the Nine tails were pulled into a seal on an infant he determined to be Naruto. Moments later the seal pulsed and an oppressive presence flooded the area in and around the clearing. Initially Hiruzen braced for a perceived attack, however the moment before the intensity became too much to stomach it vanished instantly. Hiruzen rushed to the boy to ensure the sealing had not harmed him. Assured that the boy was fine he turned to the scroll and opened it carefully. Initially he was confused as the scroll was written in a language he didn't recognize. The moment It was fully open the writing converted into something similar to a sealing formula and certain parts were rearranged before settling into a familiar position and translating into familiar symbols:
Sarutobi,
The moment you open this scroll there is no doubt that you will know that I was an outsider.
I have altered the sealing method to protect the souls of those that were present and on their behalf request that you do as much as you can to ensure the boy's safety. Unlike Minato I do not anticipate Naruto will be welcomed by the majority of the populace and I warn you he will be neglected.
Keep an eye on the streets the moment he learns to walk so he doesn't get stuck there for long, however don't bother forcing him back. It would make his situation worse.
In three years I will be back to intervene in another crisis so the outcome doesn't ruin a noble family. Again, don't draw unwanted attention when that happens. You and said family may not like how I solve the issue but I'll run my offer by those involved first.
In seven years I will interfere with one of the biggest tragedies this village will ever know. Even if you tried to interfere with that apocalypse the result would be either someone going behind your back or a corresponding war.
This last one is a request that I only expect to be fulfilled if you are satisfied with the outcome of my involvement as it would have no merit otherwise:
I wish to partake in the future of the leaf and aid in the development of your ninja not as a sensei, but as a peer and friend. I hope to inspire your people and help prevent similar tragedies as mentioned above. In exchange I offer you this: my abilities and support will come at no cost to your people as what I am ensures I need no such things.
I will see you when this boy enters the academy to hear your answer.
Till then,
Vii
P.S. For the purpose of secrecy this letter has been written in a foreign language and can only be translated in the eyes of yourself and Jiraiya of the Sannin. Take care professor.
===CHAPTER 1-2 Bridge===
—Chapter 2: Blinding the hundred eyes.—
Ten meters
Hiashi shouted lividly, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY DAUGHTER!"
Seven meters
The Kumo shinobi cringed, "Oh SHIT!"
Three meters
Hiashi began, "YOU ARE WITHIN RANGE Oooof"
Newcomer groans, "One meter? Okay that was dangerously close to happening."
The Kumo shinobi who was borderline pissing himself recoiled as the person materialized with his fist already slugging Hiashi Hyuga In the gut. Deciding his luck was already gone he immediately booked the nearest escape trail home only to hear a chilling remark.
"YOU'RE FORGETTING SOMETHING MISTER!" shouted the newcomer who's description consists of black curly hair, blue eyes…with circuit-esk markings around the glowing iris, black shinobi stealth armor with golden-yellow markings along the seams, deep indigo cloak that frequently pulsed with rings of energy left open in front and an empty sheath on his hip, "Didn't you need to bring something back?"
The masked man halted immediately almost paralyzed when he realized the sac in his arm was empty.
Hiashi meanwhile froze in his attempt to destroy the interruption to verify his daughter was no longer in the mans possession.
"Alright you two, I just made a potential enemy of everything that exists to propose an alternative to death or mutilation tonight. I offer two things: first, so the man doesn't just off himself - Wait your turn Hiashi - I offer this." The man placed his hands together but remained in a stance that both could see what he was doing. Momentarily chakra appeared in his hands, in so many colors that the two thought it was some form of fire, and within the chakra a flurry of diagrams rushed though. Afterwards a container filled with a green fluid materialized and the energy remaining condensed into an orb physically identical to the byakugan.
Hiashi was furious (given it's him this is a rare thing), "Where did you get that!?"
Vii was irked, "Does it look like I pulled this off of an actual body?! Don't label me just yet Hyuga." alternating his gaze between the two the man sternly voiced, "I will fight on behalf of Kumogakure only this once since this man has no chance against a Hyuga. The victor gains the boone for their represented village. I guarantee your life Hiashi for I have no ill intent for your village, however if you defeat me or manage five minutes in our spar I will reveal exactly who this man is and you may do with this as you deem appropriate. If you lose; this man leaves with his life and this eye." directing his attention to the foreign shinobi, "Should you interfere, I can promise you will regret it." Turning back to Hiashi, Vii noticed that the man was preparing to fight, "Hiashi, if this person is injured; your family will suffer the consequences."
Hiashi shouted, "And what could this man do that he hasn't already!?"
"THATS WHY I'M HERE!" Vii took a moment to control himself, "It's the reason I haven't let you kill him! There are things more important to you than an unused eye!"
Hiashi scowled, "And all I have to do to protect these things is bury you?"
Vii rolled his eyes, "You've already been given your daughter."
The cloud shinobi scowled, "You overestimate yourself!"
Vii whirled to glance at the man, before looking to Hiashi, "Let's get this over with."
Hiashi got into the ready stance of the juken.
Suddenly Vii seems distracted.
"PAY ATTENTION JACKAL!" Shouted a vengeful Hiashi Hyuga as he leapt forward
Vii's KI suddenly spiked and the man leapt to attack. He lunged toward the Clan head.
Hiashi landed three blows to the man in quick succession.
Vii took the first, then the second, but as the third hit; his arm shot up to capture the offending limb. Grunting through the pain of the strikes; Vii hauled Hiashi over and turned his back to the man.
Hiashi blocked the collision with a strike of the gentle fist.
Vii snarled as he felt his back being pierced by the lancing chakra, "LIGHTWEIGHT!" With an aggressive amount of torque Hiashi's taijutsu form was broken against the man's back. Vii buried his arm in Hiashi's shoulder and hauled him over his side.
Hiashi drew a kunai and attempted to slash the man's arm as he fell. The cut managed to gouge the man's upper arm, but the attack continued. Hiashi landed on the ground with a thud.
Vii began to huff as the wound on his arm bled profusely.
Hiashi rose to his feet. Vii quickly launching forward…and beneath Hiashi's guard.
The Hyuga attempted to keep up with the man, but a blow to his back set off a number of alarms, 'That was the blind spot!'
Vii skidded to the side, "Your far too vulnerable Hyuga. Your taijutsu, while fancy, is dependent on your opponent being either forward or evasive. If your opponent robs you of the necessary distance for your taijutsu; you are just as vulnerable as you are at a range."
Hiashi grinned inwardly, 'So it was a fluke.' Launching forward Hiashi made to shut down the man's arms.
Vii lowered his head before releasing a primal roar.
Hiashi tensed as his strikes landed, but quickly realized, 'My control! What is this?!'
The roar had activated a sense of fear within the Hyuga. Not of death, pain, or danger; but of an enraged alpha predator.
Vii landed a solid strike to the mans shoulder and used the minute rotation to get behind the man.
With a quick flurry of hand formations, Vii struck both palms to the Hiashi's shoulders and floored his chakra.
Hiashi froze when the man behind him disappeared. Suddenly he realized the more devastating truth, 'The byakugan!'
Vii plowed into Hiashi and sent the man sprawling. (When you're blinded for the first time you almost always stumble. When it happens while fighting? Let's just say you wouldn't have time to get your bearings back.)
Hiashi shook himself momentarily but a hand against his back terrified him.
Vii shook his head, "That's two and a half minutes if I were liberal with my estimate. Can you last another two and a half?"
Hiashi attempted to reactivate his byakugan, but at one point he realized, 'It was never deactivated!' Without a visual of his opponent, the typical counter to the situation was off the table. Hiashi took a moment before cursing, "You con! You've started a war with the entirety of the Hyuga clan!"
Vii noted the Cloud shinobi moving to take them both out. With a flicker the offender was against a tree, "You better make sure this ordeal was worth it! If you so much as lay another Ill intended toe on this village I will ensure your chakra is in turmoil for the next decade!"
The shinobi struggled to grab a weapon but Vii shoved the vial into the man's grasping hands, "Begone! Phaze razing ricochet!"
The man was slammed by a glowing indigo fist and was blasted off in a tunnel of light.
—Raikage tower—
A held his hand in one of his palms as he awaited the 'ambassador's' report. Suddenly a tunnel of light plowed through him and into the office and the Raikage braced for some kind of attack.
The Ambassador appeared in the room before tumbling to the ground.
A was about to smite the intruder before he recognized the man, "Kawaru!? How the hell did you get here!?"
The ambassador looked up from the floor before shakily standing, "The last thing I saw was a blue fist!" Looking around quickly he found the septic tube and checked it. With a scowl, he handed it to the Raikage.
The Kage took the vile and asked, "How?"
The ambassador shrugged nervously, "I'll right a report; but I've seen genjutsu more sensical than the last five minutes."
A.N: Alpha groans, "Good grief. I'm going to update what I've renovated thus far
—Hokage tower— (===Editor's checkpoint===)
Hiruzen Sarutobi had seen many things but seeing Hiashi Hyuga this shaken was an odd sight, "What happened to you out there?"
After taking a moment to collect himself Hiashi replied, "I managed to track down the perpetrator and was seconds away from executing the bastard when some foreigner appeared and struck me the gut. At some point while I recovered; he had removed my daughter from the clearing. I later found that she had somehow arrived in the compound with Hitomi." He scowled to the side, "Hokage-sama, this man was able to craft my clans doujutsu with his bare hands and a chakra I have never seen before."
Hiruzen actually performed a spit-take with his pipe and took several minutes to recover, "He did what?!"
Hiashi continued, "He replicated our kekkei genkai. He also claimed it would work for any recipient without complication and offered it as a boone to the shinobi of Iwa if he could beat me in under five minutes in a taijutsu spar."
Hiruzen was perplexed by this statement, "He did know the consequences of fighting a Hyuga no?"
"Not only that, his counter offer was the identity of the kidnapper should I be the victor." Hiashi scowled slightly, "He claimed that my clan would have suffered if the Iwa shinobi had died by my hand. Worse, when we fought…he knew something we have made every effort to keep secret from the world."
With a puzzled expression the aged Hokage asked, "You can't mean the existence of this secret resulted in your downfall. What was so special about this attack?"
"He disabled my byakugan with a strike to my back." His expression fearful, "Hokage-sama, this man knew he could do this the moment he challenged me…and he suggested you know him somehow. Who is he?"
At this point Hiruzen froze. quickly he turned to a drawer in his desk and pulled out a green scroll he hadn't read in two years. After reviewing the content again he sighed, "Three years ago, when the Kyubi was sealed, I found this letter next to the current Jinchuriki. This man apparently knew something of this incident years ago and foretold he would return to avert some crisis about this time as well as another in about four years. I had thought such a crisis would be of higher magnitude than mere kidnapping."
Suddenly a bright white rift appeared above the old man's desk and out fell a second smaller yet identical scroll.
Sarutobi let out an exasperated sigh and opened the scroll.
Hokage-sama,
I wasn't initially planning on telling you this as it has the potential to provoke an incident but the ass-hole spy was an ingrate as well as a coward. I also realize that I may have been unnecessarily harsh on Hiashi so he probably deserves to know this:
You'll find that a visiting politician has mysteriously disappeared from his residence at the inn during this event. You probably still have his signature somewhere in your office on something akin to political leverage. Also I checked to make sure some DNA is in fact present on Hinata so Hiashi has evidence if he would like to press charges.
I will be visiting Hiashi privately to explain what I did to him. DO NOT intrude on that conversation as it is his secret to tell or keep.
If possible I would like someone to observe my performance during the upcoming calamity I mentioned before. Trust me you will know when that happens.
Till then,
Vii
"Hiashi?" said a grim Sarutobi.
"Yes sir." an agitated Hiashi responded.
"If this man is correct in the identity of that ninja than your family was indeed spared in this encounter."
Hiashi was extremely put off by this, "Who was this shinobi that his death would be an inappropriate response to kidnapping a clan heir? Not to mention he successfully stole our bloodline."
"A diplomat."
Hiashi paled incrementally, as the repercussions and political leverage Iwa would have had, weighed on his conscience.
Hiruzen continued, "It appears that this man - who has identifies himself as Vii - was not actually acting as your enemy but as a Mitigator." he added, "He is also offering to privately disclose whatever it is that he knows about your Doujutsu to you and only you Hiashi."
At this point Hiashi's expressions had mostly settled back to stone however you could still read his surprise if you knew it would be there, "He was actually sincere back there? I had concluded that was a threat to finish me off." Hyuga don't typically do guilty expressions but there was a weight visibly transferred in his shoulders
With a stern nod Hiruzen added, "He states that you'll find evidence of the culprit on your daughters person. If this is true we can run forensics and press charges against the man. I can send some anbu to gather what they can if you would like but I recommend taking some time…"
Suddenly Hiashi grabbed his head as his Byakugan flared. After a moment he realized his eyes were activated and cut the chakra to his eyes thus returning his vision to normal.
While he was concerned, Hiruzen asked, "What was that just now?"
Hiashi was inwardly relieved, "Up to this point I had been unable to utilize my doujutsu's proper field of vision. I assume whatever this Vii character did just wore off and they were activated instinctively."
Hiruzen nodded and continued, "While this is a favorable sign, I recommend you get some rest and wait for this 'Vii' to show." He then smiled with traces of bitterness, "I am interested in hearing more about this man for you see; while I was the first to know about this person I have never seen his face. You are the first person to do so and tomorrow I'd like you to visit Inoichi to get a sketch as well as his description so the next time he appears I know who I'm seeing."
Hiashi smirked, "I take it you're anticipating his next visit sir." receiving an affirmative nod he continued, "I'll let you know what I find during our conversation"
With that the clan head departed the office for his compound.
—Next morning—
Hiashi was tense with anticipation. Vii hadn't actually supplied a time or place for their meeting and he had explored the majority of the clan compound and at one point he had considered the small clearing. Problem was that he wasn't aware of a place that carried as much significance as that night. Eventually he resorted to using his byakugan and was surprised to discover a huge well of chakra in his office. It was amazing that his presence hadn't been detected by the entire clan but somehow the surrounding area seemed unaffected.
As the clan head entered his office he recognized the familiar and unique garb that Vii had worn to the confrontation. The cloak was hanging in the corner but after a moment he noted it was pitch black instead of a deep pulsing indigo. On his desk was the same empty sheath however the golden glowing runes on the item had vanished. In front of his desk sat the mysterious Vii in the same stealth armor from before with the same golden markings along his body, however there were other features that were not visible the night before. His joints were shielded with pads that glowed with the same energy he had seen on his cloak before.
"Took the liberty of making yourself comfortable." The marble composition of his expression assured Vii that he had fully recovered, "You seem remarkably familiar with my home for an outsider."
"Only with particular areas. For example: despite that I've never been there, the courtyard is incredibly symmetrical for a house where the majority live on one side but I guess it's your business why it would be that way. Also though mostly an unpleasant experience I have seen the dojo and again have never been there.'' Vii paused to gauge Hiashi's reaction, "More on that later. Your here for my notes on the byakugan"
"Where did you learn about the byakugan?" Hiashi was stern in his request, "Whoever taught you is a serious threat to my clan."
"I learned about the byakugan in a very similar manor to your home and village. I know that the X-ray aspect of the byakugan has been over glorified. By design the byakugan doesn't actually care so much about physical boundaries and instead focuses on homing in on chakra. If this world wasn't influenced by the chakra techniques of ninja and samurai then your byakugan likely wouldn't notice the environmental structure. I also had access to a translation of the name byakugan. Since I think your clan has mostly accepted the flaws in your doujutsu I'll modify it so it isn't so condescending: Byaku roughly translates to hundred and Gan is connected to your eyes. This roughly means 'The Hundred Eyes' and since they become chakra sensitive it becomes reasonable to assume that your doujutsu relies on your 'hundreds' of tenketsu(chakra nodes) correlating to your eyes to produce the effect that your body IS an eye."
"How did you know about the weak spot in our field of view?"
"Initially I wasn't aware that it applied to your 'full body eye' but I had learned that even normal eyes have a blind spot where light hits the optic nerve due to the alternative responsibility of transporting the image gathered." Vii adjusted himself, "A normal eye is so small that the angle of obscurity is negligible but with a full body eye, not to mention inverted perception, your resulting blind spot is incredibly obtuse. I found out it was relevant to you when I witnessed another shinobi methodically dissassemble an opposing Hyuga's defenses."
"Alright to that end you have reached my own understanding of our doujutsu which is remarkable, however you somehow disabled my eyes with…"
"STOP!" insisted Vii. he then stood and approached the nearest wall. as he pressed his palm against the wall a seal formula rapidly rapped itself around the office and once it had finished the walls gained an eerie glow, "There. Hiashi, the secret to that technique must be kept in extreme secrecy as it practically guarantees the defeat of any Hyuga that depends on their bloodline in a fight. If you feel the need to ensure it doesn't happen by mistake then all you need is a chakra proof material to shield your clansmen's blind spot."
Hiashi nodded sternly but insisted, "I will invest in such protection, however you must tell me how you did that."
With a quick nod Vii began to explain, "The blind spot in the byakugan is actually a result of a single tenketsu that is responsible for translating the sensory intake from the other nodes and sending the compiled data backwards through the optic nerve. the info is then organized in your eyes and constructed into a readable image that is sent to the brain." Vii then gestured to his eyes. "One of my tenants is capable of replicating any ability I sufficiently understand as well as any ability I have the right conditions to produce. I used this skill to create the necessary components to perform a blind version of the gentle fist and used it to seal THAT tenketsu and halt the information from reaching your eyes. In essence your taijutsu is your own Achilles heel."
"Your telling me that you have premonitions, omen-sight, and unlimited abilities?"
"Yeeah, people are gonna be on my case about this." after a moment the bashful expression faded and Vii added, "I've got two other notes I feel will be significant in the near future. First; your eldest Hinata is a water type with no affiliation with earth. Please avoid breaking her simply because her body rejects your clan's standard taijutsu style. Second, tell the Hokage I'm starting me first debt of honor tomorrow as he'll be hearing about it in the morning." As he said this Vii reached out with both hands and his cloak and sheath flew onto his person. Immediately the color returned to both objects.
"One last thing." Said a curious Hiashi, "Why is that sheath empty?"
Turning to assess the object in question Vii replied, "I haven't had a reason to make a blade of that caliber just yet. I find these…" holding a loose fist against his armor he drew a golden blade seemingly from himself, "…are plenty sufficient for now."
—Next morning—
"Hokage-sama, we are getting reports of graffiti at several very public locations." Came the report of a very annoyed desk clerk.
Hiruzen groaned. Graffiti hadn't been an issue in the past since few civilians were bold enough to perform the act where any patrolling shinobi would notice. The rare exception was when threats were made and of those dangerous content was present, "What is the nature of the messages?"
"There are three types currently present in the village:" The man hands Sarutobi three photos "A map of an unrecognized island; A large display of sealing formulas that somehow shows a description of a formula's role when one is probed with chakra; And the third is upsetting many of the clans."
Hiruzen concealed a smirk, "I think I understand exactly what we're seeing. There's a symbol in every image that I think people here take for granted." Hiruzen gestured to the collection of clan symbols shrouded in flames symbolizing chakra, to the one in the center that dwarfed all the others with its shroud, "Do you know the meaning of this symbol?"
The chunin nodded, "This is the symbol of camaraderie worn by those with chunin rank or higher."
Hiruzen chuckled, "Then I imagine you could learn something from this person. While it symbolizes camaraderie now, it wasn't just referring to ours. This is a symbol for a clan that had an alliance with Konoha since our foundation and despite having recently become endangered they are still recognized as our comrades. Despite the boldness of this image the comparison is very accurate."
The chunin shrugged, "So it was a big clan. They still shouldn't overshadow every other clan combined."
"Not in population. In chakra. A single Uzu shinobi would have a developed genins reserves at birth and by the time of graduation would be pushing mine to the limits."
You could see the younger shinobi's ghost through him.
===Chapter 2-3 Bridge===
Chapter 3: Duel Within the Spiders Nest.
Hiruzen was on his last nerves waiting for Vii to appear, 'Come on magic ninja. I could really use a miracle right now. You weren't kidding either cause this is by far the worst tragedy I have ever been privy to.'
Suddenly the familiar white tear appeared, this time a single palm sized piece of paper: Watch Itachi tonight.
'I was hoping for more articulation than this' grumbled Hiruzen.
POOF
The paper transformed into a mainly blank scroll with a single heading and note: "Subtitles (Happy?)"
Immediately words began to appear so Hiruzen quickly pulled out his scrying globe (crystal ball/shinobi tv)
—With Itachi AND Shisui Uchiha—
At Shisui's request the two would be traitors were heading toward the river when they spotted a distortion in the air.
The moment Vii stepped out he moaned, "Blue, never let me use this ability again. It's starting to affect our eyes." Suddenly he realized his situation, "Oh hi! Before Itachi is asked to kill his best friend and go gradually blind as a result, I'm here to offer a counter proposal that has a 70% chance of convincing your clan to stand down and the remainder that I end up having to essentially debilitate an entire clan. As I'm betting on the former I prefer this solution to 'The Uchiha Massacre' you'd see in the paper tomorrow not to mention the trauma a boy would go through seeing his idol and brother commit the act with decaying eyes. Yeah unfortunately, Shisui, cheating the short term side effect doesn't stop the Sharingan from first bleeding its cancerous tumors."
The two shared a visual confrontation that may have actually happened before Itachi demanded, "On who's authority?"
"Unfortunately I am unprotected by anyone politically and the consequences of my actions are my own to bear. By the way time is a much higher threat to me than any village would be." Answered Vii.
To Itachi's surprise it was Shisui who asked, "How would you be able to save our family?"
Itachi countered, "Why are you considering this man Shisui?"
A distraught Shisui answered, "I can't go through with this Itachi. Worse, my intent was to grant you the mangekyo sharingan as well as my eyes. I can't do that if it still kills you!"
Vii waited for this to be said then followed, "Itachi, my intent is that you both get to fight on your family's behalf without being considered traitors to this village. Anyone who calls you traitor after this would have to claim support of your mission publicly. I will fight on behalf of the Leaf. Against me you will both have to go all out to stand a chance. This will allow you to stand as shinobi for your family without throwing the fight. I will challenge you in front of your clansmen and prove they CAN be defeated not only once, but reliably."
Itachi voiced his doubts, "While I am one of the few that acknowledges our bloodline is not invulnerable you would be hard pressed to defeat two jonin at once."
"All the more reason your clan will have second thoughts afterwards. I assure you that I won't fail to defeat both of you."
Shisui was clearly for this plan and voiced this to Itachi, "Please Itachi! If he can't do it I will help you take down as many as I can, but please, for our family's sake!"
Itachi sighed, "Fine, but your responsible for filing the report to the Hokage if this works."
Shisui, in a temperament unheard since Obito, "Yes sir!"
—Uchiha Clan Compound: Main Street: Midnight—
Vii had once again dawned his battle garb and shouted to the streets, "ON THIS DAY YOU MEET YOUR MATCH WIELDERS OF THE TRANSCENDANT EYE CANCER! I'M CALLING…"
—Side alley—
Itachi deadpanned, "Damn, he's got BALLS!"
Shisui grinned, "And he's going to town with our name in the dirt. This will be a day to remember."
—Hokages Office—
Hiruzen had his head on his desk with his arm tapping out, "He - he - HE'S A RIOT! Oh Fugaku's gonna tear himself a new one over this."
—Uchiha Clan Compound: Mainstreet: Confrontation—
Itachi didn't even need to make up any lines with the level of absolute trash thrown earlier, "You just turned in your death warrant and you better have a will ready to accompany it cause your on the strait shot to hell!"
Vii had started shaking with excitement…Damn Sasuke had gone crazy! "Please tell me your not the only person lining up to fight me after THAT!"
Shisui joined his cousin, "HELL NO! You've invited the whole place to raze your ass to shreds, however I don't plan on sharing my turn at the mill!"
Vii acquired a wickedly sadistic grin, "Well being that you showed up so quickly your granted second go Mr…"
"Shisui Uchiha you roach!" He adopted a look of pity, "Unfortunately I fell behind the clan heir here and he's a prodigy in his own right. You, sir, are royally screwed!"
The whole clan began forming a ring around the intruder to prevent any chance of escaping their wrath. Shisui stood just inside the ring and Itachi stood a few feet in front of the man.
Itachi challenged "As clan heir to the Uchiha clan I declare trial by combat with the stakes being your life or freedom if you manage to miraculously back your claims as a supposed bane of our esteemed clan."
Vii began to shudder so much that his image became blurry, "It must be some kind of holiday cause I just got the perfect gift. My terms of victory would be the word of the Uchiha to partake in a political renegotiation with the shinobi council. I have a feeling Sarutobi has become aware of your subtle oppression"
Itachi nodded, "I agree to your terms."
—Hokage's Office—
"Oh Kami. Don't tell me we provoked this whole thing!"
—Main Street—
Fugaku stepped forward to signal the anticipated slaughter, "Ready?" With a curt nod from both participants he added, "State your name outsider."
Vii's expression briefly sparked - literally, "My name is Vii and I fight for Konoha with my own reasons A-hole."
With a LIVID expression and venom in his voice Fugaku shouted, "BEGIN!"
"Make your move peasant!" Shouted an irate clan member.
"you mean it? Sure!" With that Vii vanished in a huge visual displacement.
"Holy Shit he's fast!" Remarked a genin.
Immediately Itachi activated his sharingan and noticed Vii had been circling him at ridiculous speeds, However the moment Vii saw his eyes change he returned to his starting position and said, "And that concludes the fair portion of this match."
Indigo?
YES?
It's time.
Woo Hoo!
Vii grinned, "Mystic art: Sharin Strobe!"
Immediately Itachi groaned, "Oh Kami What is this…GAH?! KAI(Supposed to dispel genjutsu or other optical illusions)!" Then he panicked as he realized it was only temporarily halting the insanely rapid multi-colored strobing that pelted his eyes, "Oh hell nah! Ooof!"
As Itachi was coming to terms with a multicolor-palated battlefield Vii walked up to him and slugged him in the gut. Immediately after Itachi flailed in front of himself, "Push," and tumbled forward. "Itachi, you would embarrass yourself so mush less if you shut off your eyes."
Seeing no alternative Itachi did so and despite the unnatural pallet he could tolerate the discrepancy, "You are a man of your word: THAT WAS BRUTAL YOU JERK!"
"I hope that a seasoned jonin still knows how to fight without his bloodline, especially with such a respectable ego." Vii took a stance that was shockingly familiar taijutsu stance.
One of the startled shinobi asked, "He's bluffing right? He can't have learned our style!"
Itachi realized something about his opponent, "No, I'm afraid this man is far more aware of our clan than any living shinobi should have been capable of knowing. By extension this man is no shinobi. he's not even a samurai."
Initially concerned about Itachi's proclamation Vii smiled, "Even partially blinded you saw strait through my facade. Your right I am no proper shinobi, However your other conclusion is only partially correct:" Vii held two loose fists against opposite sides of his torso and drew two golden chakra based swords from his gut, "A resident of this body very much was at a minimum, an equal to any samurai." He held the two short scimitars in reversed grips both facing diagonally away from his person.
Itachi was beginning to doubt he could beat this adversary. Drawing two kunai Itachi said, "Shisui, you very well may get your turn with this guy, avoid using your sharingan for as long as you can and use it quickly and decisively when you do." With that he threw his kunai at Vii and received a shock as he drew a handful of shuriken.
Initially having dodged the thrown projectile Vii dispelled one of his swords and grabbed at the air trailing the thrown weapon, "Ah, I thought you would use that trick. I think I saw someone use this to imitate your skill in ricochet recently." As he was saying this he was swinging the razor sharp dagger in circles and to emphasize his point he launched it at a young boy's feet.
Sasuke shrieked at the proximity of the impact. After realizing the point being made he shouted, "What's wrong with using ninja tools to complete a task!? Your not even a ninja! Don't judge me!"
Vii smirked, "The easy way isn't always the best for learning purposes. Its impressive but not a rare skill kid." Turning to a protective Itachi Vii realized his error, "Oh Shit I just threatened your brother in front of you…MISTAKES WERE MADE!" Vii redrew his second blade and took a much tighter stance that was clearly defensive.
Itachi grinned, "You must know that you just made your victory THAT much harder to achieve."
The man frowned, "I think you underestimate the importance of Karmic Intensity." He then began walking towards the Anbu grade shinobi and took an approach that was reminiscent to swimming while his scimitars swung in loose arcs around himself.
After Itachi took off Vii's stance became even looser and he reversed his grip on his swords so they were angled behind his person and began to sway in a circular motion. As Itachi made to launch the first strike he decided to do as much damage as he could as rapidly as he could. He made a cross with the first two fingers on each hand and a corporeal duplicate appeared next to him.
The new Itachi branched off from his counterpart and attempted a pincer maneuver. The other Itachi made first contact and landed a kick to Vii's gut but to his surprise Vii just routed the force of the impact with his stance to boost an attack against his clone. Itachi was further shocked that when the clone dispelled the force of the blow left a visible impact on the opposite side of the resulting cloud…as if the structure of the former clone had been loaded with a kinetic shockwave before it could disperse. He also grimaced as the memories returned. 'note to self: avoid taking another direct from this guy or I'm out of this fight.' he suddenly noticed that Vii had reversed his rotation after the blow and concluded that the rotation was to build up energy for his attacks and could be applied both offensively and defensively.
After gaining this insight Itachi was certain he would need to be tactical about this fight…and creative about his tricks. Suddenly an idea comes to mind and he begins distracting Vii from his preparations.
Vii noticed Itachi had rapidly switched from assault to…'Oh great he's going straight to professional shinobi mode.' Itachi began strafing him and alternated between thrown kunai and shuriken. He quickly noticed Itachi was utilizing ninja wire for some of the projectiles when he saw an impressive increase in second dates, "Okay Itachi I admit I can't even tell how your controlling this many - wait a minute…"
Itachi was unnerved by the knowing grin appearing on Vii's face, "Tora got your tongue you savage?" 'don't tell me he already saw my trap!'
Vii laughed when he caught on…somewhat, "I'm impressed at how subtly you can change your posture to command so many projectiles. Running must be practically automatic to have such fine control." Suddenly his attention wavered and he seemed to be listening for something. "Oh crap, Blue was right!" Vii suddenly started chasing Itachi and sure enough the shuriken where behaving like a hive mind, "I haven't seen this trick in months!"
'Blue?' Itachi realized he had to spring his trap early or Vii might find a loophole (literally), "Time to finish this!" Itachi reached out and hauled in a few hidden wires and Vii was quickly forced toward the center of the makeshift arena.
"Oh no you don't!" Vii shouted, "I am not falling to twenty-five cent street art!" He got that far off look again and moments later held his hands at half their span apart. Before the clan of habitual copy cats Vii channelled an extremely dense golden energy between his hands that initially formed a triple helix. Slowly a grey metal with sharp blue cracks began to form, "Faster Yellow, faster!" The metal began to form a jagged blade that crackled with electricity and emitted an ultra-fine humming noise. The moment the hilt appeared Vii snatched in from the air and began to swing it against the invisible barrier that was constricting his movement. Satisfied with the sharp electrical snap that signaled the first inner wire was severed he grinned before turning and running in the opposite rotation as Itachi.
Itachi cursed as he heard his ninja wire snap viciously and quickly and decided enough was enough. He halted his spin before the shuriken could leave orbit and potentially hit his family members. "The idea that any blade is capable of severing this particular type of ninja wire is frightening to me. No opponent I have ever faced has managed to cut through such high grade weaponry."
Vii sighed, "If I hadn't known from your initial weapon that you people had access to such high quality materials, this would have been me."
To Itachi's shock the man displayed that his palm had been sliced open. He then realized that the man had received the injury from grabbing the microfiber of his first kunai. "Are you telling me that whole time you were swinging that weapon like it was a toy you were actively aggravating that injury?!" Then he realized the hidden meaning of the act and glanced at his younger brother. "I see. Your aggression is held against our arrogance rather than the existence of our eyes."
Vii's eyes softened, "Your in the right neighborhood but your conclusion is incomplete. This clan has bordered on self destructive in the past and it stemmed from the idea that there was only one 'best' Uchiha. Since the day this clan was gifted your doujutsu it was under a situation where it was the second choice for succession. Somehow you have carried the notion that anyone who can best you is your enemy. Because of this outlook you have ignored your own potential to challenge those who have furthered their own. As a result your doujutsu has become the deciding factor instead of your own unique skills. If you would escape this noose you have woven and display the versatility of your clan; then you would deserve my respect." His gaze hardened again, "Until then you are too predictable to defeat me. In fact, as it stands it will become easier and easier to defeat your people as I establish the limit of said versatility." He frowned, "You however are more diverse than I expected, which is already pushing the standard for your clan."
Fugaku was barely restraining himself at this point, "Itachi, if you take more than ten seconds to clear the field I will be taking Shisui's place to slaughter this trash!"
Itachi winced, "Understood father."
—
As Shisui entered the circle Vii asked a retreating Itachi, "That's your dad?!"
Itachi turned back to Vii and his look said enough.
Vii shook his head, "I honestly thought his description was exaggerated." Looking back at the man, "I really admire your ability to improve yourself under such formidable conditions."
Shisui cringed, "Don't push the man, I might not get my chance to prove you wrong."
A purple Fugaku shouted, "BEGIN!"
Vii was offended, "What are we, children?" He froze when a razor was held against his neck, "Sorry dude no lethal blows…" Suddenly Shisui found his neck on the business end of…'THAT'S MY KUNAI! HOW THE HELL…' and received a kick to his spine when Vii finished, "…until the boss fight!"
Shisui took a moment to reclaim his oxygen supply and cried out, "THAT'S - IMPOSSIBLE! No shinobi can pull a kamarimi(substitution - typically with a stationary object) THAT articulate!"
Vii shook his head mockingly, "You heard Itachi say that I am no proper shinobi." He acquired a devilish grin, "You should probably stop fighting to kill and start fighting to impress. That would prove that my purpose here is unwarranted."
Shisui's frustration visibly morphed in to eagerness, "In that case, I think I can sate your hunger."
Vii cackled, "Oh do show."
With a competitive grin, Shisui vanished. He began rapidly applying his signature technique, the shunshin(complex technique used to instantly travel to an intended destination within a large range; typically used by high grade shinobi to close long distances quickly. (Only Shisui sufficiently mastered it to the extent it could be used in combat.)) Coupled with his incredible speed his attacks came from several locations within the span of a few seconds. After Vii dodged several kunai volleys in addition to Shisui's assassination velocity strikes the Uchiha prodigy decided to try an unorthodox stunt he had been secretly tinkering with.
Shisui threw his side project consisting of a kunai with a rare metal wire attached at the man.
Vii cycled through a few emotions as the object performed its dance. First in line was surprise that Shisui had halted his constant jumping to throw a single projectile. Second was disappointment as he recognized a wire trick…again. Then interest as he saw the familiar glint of chakra conductive metal. Then absolute horror as he looked at Shisui an saw dozens of explosive tags shooting down the wire; all rearing to blow, "HOLY SH…"

KA-BO-O-O-OM
—Hokage's Office—
"Oh Kamikaze, he didn't!" Hiruzen paled, "That was the extreme version of all out! What was he thinking?" 'And how did he pull that stunt off?'
—Ground Zero—
The ring of observing Uchiha scattered a few additional feet when the tags generated a concussive blast that knocked the front row back forcefully.
Itachi gaped.
Shisui paled.
Fugaku was freaking giddy.
…
Then they heard a faint whistle in the background develop into a scream. Several clansmen looked to the sky in shock.
Itachi paled.
Shisui gaped.
Fugaku, "Oh, come on!"
—Vii 50meters high—
"WIND STYLE: GALE PALM!"
Vii miraculously managed a controlled landing. Immediately he stalked up to a stunned Shisui, "I am unsure weather to flatten you for reckless endangerment or congratulate you on scaring the life out of me." Suddenly he gasped as a blade pierced his gut and groaned as the blade was twisted. He croaked out, "That was soo - ah - sooner than I expected from - uhg - you - Fugaku."
Fugaku's surprise at being identified was doubled when the man added:
"Wel-come t-to the - ugh - Boss - gah - Le-vel!"
PHAZE
Vii appeared two feet from Fugaku fully healed. Not only that, his armor appeared turbo charged: His cloak sparked with excess and was rippling with a new ferocity. In addition the visible pulses visible on the cloak were emitting a charged hum. His new sword was, even from it's new home, emitting a terrifyingly familiar chirping noise that scared the shit out several shinobi. His armor was covered in golden runes that crawled along his body. However the most intimidating change was that the circuit patterns on his iris' had transitioned to his forehead and replacing them was a bold pattern very similar to their doujutsu: Blue iris' with three very large tomoe. Major difference being that each tomoe was different. One was green with black rings around the large end. The second was red with four smaller tomoe in the same area…in fact… it was clearly based on their own doujutsu. The last was a pale blue with a mild distortion in the center very similar to the byakugan.
Vii shouted in what sounded like four voices, "By compromising this vessel you have challenged the four of us to the equivalent of a deathmatch. So neither participant can die this battle will be determined by the wills of the contestants. Each will be protected by our power until a victor is decided or a contestant leaves the marked arena of his/her own volition which will be acknowledged as forfeit. This challenge was initiated by Fugaku Uchiha against the current host Vii. Name your stakes challenger:"
Fugaku hesitated against this show of power but steeled himself to face this man, "You will leave this village and never interfere with our clan's affairs again."
Vii nodded, "We accept your terms. Our terms are these: You and your clan will cease your aggression with the hidden leaf and partake in political renegotiation for the acknowledgement of a founding clan. Do you accept these terms?"
Fugaku was thrown by the familiar nature of this request, "I accept your terms on one condition."
Vii frowned but responded, "What is your request?"
Fugaku answered, "In the event I fall to you, you will act as a third party negotiator before the council."
Vii smiled, "We accept your proposition." Turning his gaze to their audience Vii spoke, "We implore non-combatants to retreat beyond the marked arena."
The population began to retreat while searching for the aforementioned marking. Eventually some of the farther members called out about reaching the mark and the crowd hurried to escape the 'splash zone' which was extremely large for a sparring arena and consumed most of the street.
Vii spoke the moment the arena was clear "We begin once the barrier is complete."
As he said this a dome began to form over the oblong arena and the moment it sealed at the peak it turned a pale blue. In that moment the two launched at each other. Fugaku drawing his short sword and Vii drawing a gold katana from his armor. The moment they collided Vii realized he was at a disadvantage in terms of strength. To adapt for leverage he pushed more golden chakra into his blade which produced a layer of saw like teeth on the blades edge.
Seeing the weapon shift before his eyes Fugaku pulled back to analyze this development, however before he activated his eyes he paused.
Once Vii finished his alterations he noticed the mans hesitance and grinned, "We acknowledge your hesitance Fugaku, However we do not intend on using such a debilitating technique in this particular form of combat. Come at us with what you have at your disposal, after all; this is a battle of wills. As such you will need to endure this battle mentally and spiritually as death is no longer the deciding factor, as you will quickly find out."
At these words Fugaku prepared to end this quickly and activated his sharingan, "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" The moment his five clones appeared Fugaku realized a significant difference in this duel. Scanning his body he voiced, "How is this possible?! I can't feel the chakra drain at all! What is this sorcery?"
Vii grinned, "You better be mindful of the amount of chakra your body can store at any given time. Even if your reserves are constantly full, if you attempt something your body couldn't do with full reserves; you will die before the technique is cast…Even if only momentarily."
Fugaku smiled, "Assuming you're not maintaining this barrier; you have truly created an eternal battlefield."
Vii groaned playfully, "Oh great, now we're being compared to the so called "infinite" genjutsu you produce once your eyes have been forced past their breaking point! What have we done!?"
—Hokage's Office—
Hiruzen was unnerved by this proclamation, 'He couldn't mean…'
—Battle Grounds—
"The Infinite Tsukiyomi!?" Fugaku…Laughed? "Now I've only read about that technique. I'm impressed that you would know about such a thing." as they leapt for a second round his expression turned curious, "How have you encountered such an evolved form of our doujutsu?"
Alarmed, Vii quickly applied torque with his blade and having locked the teeth on the man's blade he threw it to the edge of the ring, "Fugaku, do not allow any member of your clan to pursue the Mangekyo(Kaleidoscope) Sharingan. It's very existence is to be a double self sacrifice. The moment it is obtained the person is not only rapidly blinded but also incurably poisoned by their own blood. I was serious when I referred to your eyes as a cancer. The mutated gel in your eyes is poisonous once it escapes the eyes and the Mangekyo forces your eyes to tear your extra pupils apart thus freeing the cancer to contaminate your blood which is exposed during the injury."
The crowd was frightened by the man's description of the supposedly undefeated evolutionary state.
Fugaku himself was visibly disturbed by the crudity the man described, "Please tell me that is true only during that stage!"
Vii nodded, "Short of an enemy cutting your eyes you will be fine."
Fugaku visibly relaxed, "Thank Kami."
Vii added, "The Hyuga have a very similar situation that triggers their own emergency evolution…With a respective curse. We assume the so called immortal Cycle of Roots' Eye-Cancer has a…Nevermind we're certain it does: Although the effect is immediately fatal they can resurrect those they have killed. The moment that eye becomes activated the person is cursed with a far more potent and omnipresent destiny."
As Fugaku gathered his short sword he prepared to engage again, "That must be your name for the rinnegan to have such immense of an effect."
As they collided Vii maneuvered beneath Fugaku's strike with an incredibly low fluid motion and with his electric blade pierced upward through his gut and strait to his lungs. As Fugaku reappeared a few feet away he responded, "Don't fool yourself Uchiha, That is the very same name read in my language."
Slightly put off by this claim Fugaku's strike was slowed marginally allowing the other man to lock his other swords and pull himself against Fugaku in a momentary body-lock and shoved one of the golden scimitars into his chest, "AGH, What the hell is this?! What kind of blades are those things?"
Pulling the blade from Fugaku's side Vii answered, "The non lethal kind. These blades are made of a spiritual energy similar to your chakra and against any non living material they are solid but against a living creature they force a spiritual competition. The closer this fight comes to it's close the less our Chakras will aggravate yours and vice versa."
"That's ridiculous!" Fugaku shouted, "You were barely affected by that confrontation!"
Vii grinned, "Only one of our chakras is confronting yours with those weapons. You should realize the implications of the difference in capacity. For example this is just a fraction of our capacity. SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" Fifty corporeal clones appeared evenly spaced around the edge of the barrier, "We only know of one living person of this world who could pull this off, and only he could be holding back."
Fugaku scowled at the man, "I have never heard of anyone who could pull this off!"
Vii frowned sadly, "That is disappointing. We assumed our community service would have been quite informative about his heritage."
Fugaku staggered and many present genin shouted complaints, "That was an actual clan symbol?!"
Vii shook his head with frustration, "Despite all our efforts people still haven't recognized the traits of the Uzumaki clan."
Fugaku's eyes narrowed suspiciously, "That person you mentioned earlier, were you referring to a boy named Naruto Uzumaki?"
Vii grinned but quickly became irked, "Don't assume this boy gained his gargantuan reserves from unnatural sources. No other living person could do for you what that boy has done. Without him this village has no future." As he said this he began accelerating towards the man, "Time to finish this fight!" as he said this blue wings began to form on his back, "THOUSAND STRIKES OF THE ANCIENT WARRIORS!"
Fugaku took a narrow stance clearly meant for speed and immediately took off. just before the confrontation his sword developed a burning glow and on contact he struck the chakra blades of his opponent. He was shocked when his foe's blades shattered on impact, but proceeded to impale the mans chest. The man burst into flames the moment he was struck but to Fugaku's surprise, Instead of dispelling the surrounding clones remained solid and one of them had begun a similar charge. Fugaku grimaced as the clone pulled out golden nunchucks and sprouted blue scales on his arms and legs, 'This doesn't bode well for me' He then called his clones from earlier but to his dismay they were each occupied with a surrounding clone of Vii taking unique forms:
One wielded a pair of sai and developed blue spikes on his wrist that were reminiscent of the blades of tiger claws.
Another had a bladed chain whip and had blue horns jutting from all over his head.
Two others were correlating attacks with mirrored strikes: both equipped with a short sword in their outer grips and blue flames engulfing their inner hands which were held like claws.
The last Wielded a battle axe with a significantly longer blade than normal(think half of a halo sword held backwards and color it yellow)
As the battle dragged on Fugaku was grateful that once one of his clones were defeated the opposing clone would retreat back into the ring however their swords had affected his clones chakra and attacked his conviction. Fortunately Vii was truthful; the longer he fought the less the blades affected him, However this also stung his ego as it meant this battle was selecting a victor actively and though Vii was visibly affected now, he was sure he was yielding far faster than the man.
Eventually Fugaku developed the sense he was thoroughly defeated despite his remaining strength and frequent reincarnation, "Vii, I assume this sense of desperation indicates that despite my strength you have beaten me soundly in some manner. I fear if I continue I might break from this ordeal. I yield."
The barrier began to collapse and Vii's boost faded from his person, "The match has been decided." I will see you tomorrow.
However the moment the barrier was gone completely Vii screamed, "GAAAAH WHAT THE AAAAAGH" whimpering he spoke with significant effort, "Apparently Karma is demanding a reckoning for my involvement here tonight. I must go repair the balance of this world. At least now I can stick it to that ancient bastard. I will return as promised, however the fate of your clan is clearly tied to another." With these words Vii vanished in a blur.
===End Volume One===
(Chronic clone Jutsu!)
Alpha strolls through the Volume, "Well; I've modified a few fragments of the chapter and given it a bit of a pep talk. I've mentioned this in Gen 2, but I'm not sure people here have received the memo. I'll have Enigma clone this into a few other chapters to act as reminders."
Alpha sighs, "I am not done altering this story. The 'Pseudo styles' project is only just beginning. From this point on: I will occasionally edit this series on my own as I see improvements in my style. That said; I've got a lot of stuff to add at different points in the story. I'm looking for perspectives on areas where you guys saw potential that I may have missed. Your reviews are powerful. Your powers of observation outnumber my own exponentially. If there is something you find/found wanting in this story: please let me know what I can do to improve. Give me a target and I will snipe it down. Give me an ally and I will build them up. Give me inspiration and I will Illuminate the world. Give me flames and I will see they get their fuel. There's a lot you guys can do to aid us writers. It doesn't take much. An ounce of effort can lead us to gallons of content. A gallon of effort can - in turn - revitalize the oceans."
