One of the things Betty loved about Jughead is seeing him in his work mode. The way he stared and focused at his laptop as they write stories for the school newspaper amused her. - he'd often make faces while staring and she always find it so charming. Honestly, it was endearing.
… To a point.
On this particular day, Jughead had been staring at his laptop for a good seven hours, completely focused and serious. Most of the time he would look calm and peaceful, but instead he looked quite pissed and problematic.
Betty had mentioned the time four times already, but he didn't seem to care. She didn't really mind - she'd also taught him the importance of taking breaks.
"Juggy."
…..
"… Juggy."
"Hmm?"
At least he answered this time. She sighed, wandering over and rested her hands on his shoulders, massaging them a bit to make him feel better. "Are you alright? You've been working for awhile now. Haven't I told you to take a break if your working too much?" , Betty said, looking worried that he is overworking himself.
"I'm fine Nancy Drew. It's just intense, that's all." He sighed slightly, tilting his head up so he could look at her.
"Jug, you mean too intense. You're overworking yourself." Betty quirked an eyebrow, leaning down to peck his lips sweetly. "You need to take a break from it."
"But Betty -"
"No arguments." She moved from behind him to save whatever he'd been working on, then closed the laptop and shoved it aside before he could protest.
He huffed a little, though he didn't really seem annoyed. "Okay fine, what do you propose we do, then?
"Why don't we grab some burgers and fries at Pop's?" Betty smirked and chuckled, knowing that her boyfriend would never say no.
Jughead got up quickly and pecked her lips and replied. "Sounds perfect."
They rode in Jughead's motorcycle as they went to Pop's and ordered their usual go-to food: two burgers & fries, a coffee, and an old-fashioned vanilla milkshake.
