I wrote this for Valentine's Day in 2012 as a crack fan fiction. It's now edited to spare everyone the horror of my sophomore year grammar. Also note- I don't ship this, I simply wrote this as a laugh.
Disclaimer: I don't own Jimmy Neutron and affiliated characters.
Betty Quinlan hated it. The hearts, the flowers, the couples walking down the hallway.
Well, maybe she hated one couple more than the others.
It wasn't that they weren't cute together—they were, she had to admit. She would never dream of trying to break them up. But it broke her heart to see them together.
For what had seemed like forever, Betty had resented the sassy blonde who'd scored the gem of a boy she'd always had a secret thing for. The two had become a couple at the end of eighth grade. It was now sophomore year of high school and they were still dating, much to Betty's chagrin.
Most days, she could handle the heartbreak. But today, on this sacred day of love, Betty decided that this had gone on for too long. It didn't matter if she had to forsake her friendship with the blonde girl either. The two had become close friends at the end of the seventh grade. But Betty knew she valued his love more.
Most boys at Retroville High would trip over their own feet to date the legend that was Betty Quinlan. She was virtually perfect. Betty was slim, soft-spoken, and outgoing. There were few boys immune to the sunlight radiating from her bright smile and her doe-like hazel eyes.
Only he was oblivious to her charm. And it was all because of that blasted blonde. In the beginning, Betty felt immensely guilty for feeling so jealous of her friend, but these days her love overpowered any shame she felt for her constant state of envy. She ached covetously for the boy of her dreams to be hers.
How could he be so naive? How could he be so blind to her devotion? By now, even Britney had an inkling of her frame of mind.
How could the King of Kebabs, the Macbeth of Macbeths, the Michael Jackson of Slap Clap Dancing not realize that she, Betty Quinlan loved him?
How could she make Bolbi Stroganovsky, her one true love, understand her love for him? How could she make him see she was better than Britney? Perhaps she would finally confess. It was Valentines Day after all.
