"... In other news, Tokyo Metropolitan Police Task Force has been searching non-stop for the famous 'Great Detective of the East', Kudo Shinichi. Sources say-"

The television clicked off abruptly. Sitting in his living room, famous prankster and secret magician thief, Kuroba Kaito had been relaxing until the news channel flashed something of extreme importance. Kaito's heart beat faster, mind racing, as he sat up from his couch. He picked up his secret phone, only for his great-friend-who-loves-catching-him to send out special heist notices. Kaito knew something was terribly wrong, as the line went straight to his made message machine.

"...This line has been disconnected. Please dial-"

This made no sense to Kaito. Skimming through an article about this mysterious disappearance of his great-friend-who-loves-chasing-him, Kaito learned of the police's incompetence at the importance of this case.

Shin-chan. Be okay.

Kaito dressed in his special "blending-in" outfit: blue t-shirt, jeans, and his sneakers. He was on a mission as he left his house, bound for Tokyo.

"...ngh." He moaned. Where am I? His thoughts were slurred and groggy. Shinichi woke up in a daze, which was quickly dismissed into a mild panic. Whoever did this, was no amateur. He was stripped of his cell phone from his sweater pocket, overkill on his bindings. His wrists were crossed behind his back, wrapped in thin tape, assumably electrical tape. Tape wound around his arms, pinning them to his back just below his chest. Legs donning the tape as well, around his ankles ans just above his knees. Shinichi's mouth was partially dry from the rag that had been shoved into his mouth, and his lips were kept closed with a thick piece of microfoam tape, hospital grade. Oh, someone attacked me from behind. Shit. Looking around, his surroundings clearly told him: basement. Dim lighting, cement walls, barren, locked metal door. Shinichi was assessing the situation, when his secret pin-communicator rang by his cat-and-mouse-enthusiast. He couldn't answer it, and he knew they would try to find him. He was smart, so it would need his brain power to try and find all solutions of his situation.
