Hi Y'all! (Whoa, I am sounding more American everyday!) I am starting a collection of little drabbles that pop into my head. A lot of them were inspired by song lyrics.
#1: Prompt: Zac Brown Band's As She's Walking Away
Spoilers: If you squint, you may see Keller's name in the text somewhere.
Disclaimer: It's not mine. Sorry guys.
Pairings: Neal/Alex sorry if you guys do not like it. I kind of have a thing for them.

It had been a long and hard day. Keller had forced Neal to spend three consecutive nights at his small, crappy desk, thinking where the hell did you go?
Nonetheless, they had gotten nowhere. And after the third night, Elizabeth had demanded that Peter and Neal returned home. So naturally, Neal had slipped out as soon as Peter's back was turned.
Once he was home, Neal removed his designer suit jacket, and signature fedora, then his shirt and shoes. He put on a pair of grey linen pants, and walked himself back into the living room.
Someone was sitting on his couch, drinking a glass of wine.
"Moz?" He questioned, his eyes tired and blurry.
"No, guess again." A sweetly sarcastic voice called out to him. She took a sip of wine.
"Welcome to my place, Alex. Please⦠sit yourself down and have a glass of wine." His charming smile settled on his lips.
"Sarcasm isn't pretty on you, Caffery." She shot back. She took in his half naked appearance.
"You seem to have a thing for not wearing shirts. Who do you think you are, that werewolf kid from Twilight?" a smile appearing on her face.
"That would make you Taylor Swift." He teased.
"They broke up. Where've you been?" She tossed back casually.
"Under a rock, I suppose. You should be grateful that I knew that much." He laughed. (A/N: Sorry, I couldn't resist. I had to address his "no shirt wearing at night" thing. Not that I am complaining :) )
After a few moments of silence, he tried again.
So, why'd you come here?" He asked.
"I know where to find Keller." She said, softly.
"Where?" He was suddenly intrigued.
Alex grabbed his hand, and placed something in it. She gave him a smile, and got up from the couch. He looked down in his hand, and found an origami flower. Classic Alex.
Neal found himself watching her intently as she left. So many questions swirled around in his head that he wanted answers to, and he almost called out her name.
Yet, the lyrics Don't be falling in love, as she's walking away, seemed to play over and over again in his head. He just couldn't risk another heartbreak.
He raised his hand in a silent goodbye, instead.
