Kudari bursts through the front door with his arms wide open-
"Oh, dear brother! I'm home!"
As if he's expecting a hug. Not that he ever received one.
He squeaks and covers his mouth as his eyes feast upon the fact that his brother sprawled out against the couch, half naked, and asleep. Normally he would have been just so ecstatic to behold the sight of his brother's body, but he makes sure to scold himself not to. It was his brother's day off and those came so rare and if he wanted to spend it sleeping, then by God, he was going to sleep!
He gives Nobori's sleeping body a gentle smile before scurrying upstairs to make himself a cup of tea.
"Chamomile or peppermint?"
He isn't a huge tea person but being alone at work really exhausts him.
"Maybe I should take a nap as well."
There probably isn't enough room on the couch for him, too.
"Kudari..."
The mentioned brother jumps and silently gasps as his name is groaned in to the (sort of) silent air. He glances past the wall of the stairs to take a second's stare at his twin. He sees no shock of slate-eyes and if he couldn't see the rise-and-fall of Nobori's chest, he would have began to worry that he might have been dead.
Perhaps he was hearing things-
"Ku...Kudari..." Came the sleepy mumble again.
-Nope, he was definitely not hearing things!
Kudari tiptoes down the stairs and climbs on to the couch with his knees against the armrest where Nobori's feet lay. He peers over his body and keeps a steady gaze on him as if he's studying a specimen. Then an expression of amusement and confusion contorts on it.
"Frickin'...Litwicks..."
Litwicks? This causes sudden wave of realization washes over Kudari.
He's talking in his sleep.
Kudari has to clasp his palm firm against his mouth and even nibble at the skin there in order to keep laughter from bubbling out. He found this notion all too amusing and he'd be damned if he wasn't going to have fun with it, Nobori's day off or not.
"Brother?" He calls out quietly.
"Ye..." It's hard to tell if that was an actual reply or a misplaced sound.
"Brother."
"Mmm...Yes...?"
Oh, he's responsive, too! How delicious!
"Having pleasant dreams, brother?"
Nobori's face scrunches and he lashes out an arm to only hit the air and fall to the side of the couch. "No...Damn Joltiks..."
Kudari feels a laughs bubble in his throat and he tries his best to keep it in but, he fails.
"Joltiks?" He asks, "What about Joltiks?"
"Keep...flying at the nmm... wall..."
Oh, he's positively shaking in laughter.
"Joltiks don't fly, silly." He corrects him.
A deep groan, nearly a purr, erupts from Nobori's sleep-filled lips. "Fly...Make me...Fly..."
Kudari's laughter stops for a moment to let that sink in. He tilts his head, "Pardon me?" He asks.
"Ku...dari..." He swears he sees Nobori's pale face light up just a bit with a pink. "Love..."
He's probably recognizing his voice, Kudari thinks. He should probably stop before he ends up waking Nobori up.
"Love..." Nobori continues to drawl anyway, "You...Love you..."
Kudari had started to get up but froze in his place. His smile wavers but he manages to keep it plastered to his face. His brother was never one for sentimental words, so it shocks him a bit. He flutters his eyes, which now burn, shut.
"Yeah!" He replies with an unusual amount of mirth for his current expression. "I love you, too!"
"Noooooo..." Nobori thrashes his legs as if he's throwing a tantrum, albeit they are weak because he is still just sleeping. "Love you...Kudari..."
His voice falls, as does his smile. He realizes that his brother is still just sleep-talking. He is dreaming.
"Yeah...I love you too, dear brother."
Whether or not those words or true doesn't matter. Nobori will never say them while awake. Never to his face.
