Brady's POV
It was a warm summer's day in the land of Ooo. I lay on the soft green grass along with my companion, my dearest friend, Princess Jackie.
She was looking up at the sky, which was a deep blue like her eyes. Her pale blonde hair was blowing in the soft breeze.
She turned away from the sky and looked at me. My heart skipped a beat. Her face was just so perfect, like an angel.
"Brady, do you think we'll be friends forever?"
Her question startled me. I thought for a few seconds, carefully choosing out my words.
"Of course. Why would we not?"
"Because I'm a monster."
I frowned at the word 'Monster'. She wasn't a monster. Neither was her brother, or father, or her aunt or…
Her voice interrupted my train of thought. "I mean, what if I hurt you? You might not wanna be my friend any more."
"That will never happen, Jackie." Her face still looked sad. "Jacqueline." She cringed at her first name. With this, she knew I was going to be serious.
"I don't care if you ripped me to shreds, I would still be your best friend." Her frown was flipped into a bold smile. My stomach started doing flip-flops.
"Braaaaaaaady." Uh oh. Bliss.
I turned my head, forcing myself not to look at the sweet angel that sat next to me.
In a ball dress and suit stood my older brother and sister.
Oh crud. They were dressed up. That could only mean one thing. "Brady, mom says to get your butt to the house. The Duke of Nuts will be here in an hour."
Not another royal dinner.
Trailing behind the oldest set of twins was Benjamin. "Ben, what are you-"
"Hey Jackie." I looked at the bouncing 7 year old. His face was a bright shade of cherry red. Bub looked up. "Oh princess Jacqueline, I didn't see you here. A formal hello to the dear princess."
"Hey Bub. Hiya Ben!" The young girl stood up, dusting off her dress. She curtsied to my elder siblings. Bub bowed back and Bliss curtsied as well.
Ben attempted to bow as well, but fell on his knees.
Jackie laughed a sweet little laugh and helped him up. Bliss appeared cross. "Ben, that was your best suit. Mom is going to have a fit."
As Bliss attended to Ben's clothing disaster, I faced Jackie again. "Sorry I gotta go Jackie. Maybe tomorrow we shall play?"
She frowned. "I'm sorry Brady but Aunt Marcie and Christian are coming over tomorrow for a family meeting. I'm required to attend."
"It's quite alright." But in fact, it wasn't.
She gathered me into a warm hug. I wrapped my arms around her neck awkwardly. "Best friends forever." Her sweet voice whispered in my ear.
She kissed me on the cheek, and then stood on her tiptoes to kiss Bub's cheek. Finally, she kissed Ben on his nose, which made him turn redder than he already was.
"Until we meet again. Farewell my dears."
And she was now gone.
