Author's notes: Have any of you realized how many of the pokemon stories
are about the trainers and not really the pokemon? I mean sure, the
pokemon DO appear with the trainers, but they're just sort of...there. So,
I decided it would be quite interesting to write a story in the eyes of a
pokemon. I know there's probably someone else out there that's already
done this (seeing how great minds think alike and all) so, let me know if
you're one of them! I want to read your story! XD
Disclaimer: *looks around* Yes, it's all mine! *millions of lawyers pop out of nowhere and aim bazookas at her* I mean...pokemon doesn't belong to me; believe it or not...

CHAPTER 1: Old Enemies and New Ones
Her ivory, coarse follicles lightly brushed the faded emerald colored vegetation of the mountainside. She crept on all fours, veering from the open patches of grainy soil. In front of her lay a nest filled with the most despicable creatures alive; they, they and their clan would pay for all the meaningless shedding of blood – her kin's blood. Their cocky attitude, ebony pebbled skin, and menacing maroon colored eyes and tail, all of it was utterly sickening to her. Once she had killed off this generation, she'd press forward upon the primary generation. Those fiends would not escape her wrath, and she'd make sure of it. Only when the last dusk tinted drop of blood lingered upon her claws, would she be satisfied. Their blood for her kin's blood – the same blood that had tainted her own skin, left as a reminder from those devious vandals.
Cautiously she placed one scarlet colored forearm in front of the other, keeping her similarly scarlet colored ear flat against her head, which was as close to the ground as she could get it. She inhaled the air with two quick sniffs. Soon afterward she crinkled her nose, cursing herself for allowing their foul stench to rise into her nasal passage. Well, at least the primary generation was away hunting. The foolish ones had left their prized sons and daughters alone. She almost held pity for the unborn children. They would never be able to see the light of day or the shadows of night. Before any members of the primary generation returned she extended her claws and sliced each of the ten eggs with a horizontal swipe. The oozing golden contents of the eggs spilled out and intermingled with each other.
She allowed one of her fangs to be seen as she grinned at the success of her mission thus far. Turning her head over her shoulder she saw the forms of her most despised clan slithering through the blades of grass. She noted that from their sluggish movements, they failed to catch a decent meal – leaving them completely defenseless against an attack. There were three, perhaps four of them. She couldn't tell since the different sprouting leaves that hid her also hashed her vision. Their lengthy body size would prove difficult to overwhelm if she was entangled within their constraints. She squinted trying to find the few golden rod plates that dotted each of their bodies. If she could find those exact plates, she could plunge her claws into their cold-blooded, internal flesh that would normally be impossible to do with their rock hard scales.
She extended her claws to their limits, rubbing the slimy matter onto the earth. One of the fiends sensed her movements and peered into the grass. Its forked tongue probed through and her scent was picked up. Before the creature would alarm the others of her presence, she thrust her claws directly into the golden rod plate and moved them in a wave formation, tearing apart the creature's precious tissues. With its dying breath it hissed a rather disturbing conversation.
"Heh, I should've known you were the one who killed Oudis's children," his raspy voice leaked.
She snorted retracting her claws from his flesh. "I couldn't care less about who the hell Oudis is or what her children meant to your villainous family. Why would you even disclose useless information like that? I would think a being of your kind would call for assistance with your last words."
He quietly chuckled through coughs of blood, "you should've known that Oudis has been abducted by a race more villainous than my own flesh and blood. But I suppose that matters little to you." He paused to hear if she would respond with another rude comment, but she merely scoffed, watching him slowly die from internal damage. "Well, you know as well as I do that if I called for help, they would also meet up with me in the after life."
"I think you're beginning to bore me with your useless rambling, old foe," she announced, cleaning her claws on the ground once more.
His eyes finally shut, his breathing starting to cease, "I am not sure if you realize it, but this...this war that we are waging, it's a losing one. Your clan, my clan, none of us are able to win it..."
She sneered at his last remark. For a hated foe, he sure did make a lot of sense right then. She shook her head, dismissing that last ridiculous thought. 'My kin will have victory. He is only trying to lower my guard. Now...'
The stench of the deceased rested within her nose as she stood upon her hind legs and looked for the other clan members. She slightly frowned, thinking about the comments of that blundering fool. She let a growl escape her throat as she realized that he was buying time for the remaining members of his clan. Her frown turned upside down as she darted forward, determined even more to rid her lands of these vermin.
She encountered her next victims in a densely grass covered land, on the outskirts of the mountains. Their slithering started to lessen into a slow pace. She performed the same tactics upon them as she had done to the previous villain. However, there were two of them and they still moved rather quickly despite the obvious fatigue. One of them bore his venom- drenched fangs and lunged forth, barely missing the intended target. She leapt above and drilled her claws into the plate upon his forehead. She smirked at this easy kill. Her smirk was replaced with a gaping mouth breathing words of hatred toward the female member of her foes' clan. She had left herself wide open to the scaly fiend's poisonous sword like tail.
"Heh heh, I think I'll use your body as a sheath for my saber," she hissed through venom drooling fangs. The scaly figure was taken by surprise as her feline opponent struck her golden rod plate, causing the snake to fall to the ground like her clan members. The milky fur of the remaining combatant was now drenched with that loathsome snake's blood and venom as well as her own blood. She removed her paws from both villains' bodies.
She had finished her mission, but it was a little piece of the puzzle to finish for she had many more clans to assassinate. She inwardly cursed herself for allowing that female serpent to penetrate her fur, not to mention inject some of that venom. She sighed and began to look for shelter. She would need to find it fast if she didn't want to risk an ambush from other remnants.
"Oh my gosh, a zangoose! Aw...it must've killed those poor seviper. Crola, go!"
She turned around to figure out what this new creature was babbling about. Apparently the voice belonged to a biped with a cinnamon head and carmine fur. The creature also had spots of flesh colored skin that seemed to hide under its carmine fur. Its eyes were azure painted and it held a strange sphere in its paw. 'A zangoose? Now what the hell was it thinking? My noble kin are not called by such degrading titles.'
She also noticed another creature that stood beside the biped. He too was a biped, yet, he had scales of a jade hue and flaxen eyes. His face resembled that of those fiend's that other creature called a 'seviper.' Yet, he had arms and legs and a few cerulean feathers sprouting from his head, arms, and for a tail.
"Are you related to these scum?" she asked the jade biped while pointing to the so called 'seviper.' He shook his head and then looked up to the much taller creature standing next to him. "Then you have no business with me." She turned away but was confronted by the jade beast, which was half her size.
"Crola, use a tackle attack!" She turned to look at that stupid creature babble some more. She then was faced by the jade beast's lunge into her weakened body. She snarled, instantly extending her claws once more and slashing at her new opponent. He quickly dodged and returned to the other biped's side. She knew she couldn't beat this new beast. She was already limping before the skirmish had started and he obviously had the upper hand. She fell to the ground and tried to keep her eyelids open. She could faintly hear a cry of joy from both unknown creatures and saw a blinding light spring forth from the odd sphere and envelop her body.
It felt like several days had passed when she had finally awoken. A large yawn escaped her body as she stretched her arms forth. She noticed that wherever she was, it sure was dark. She clawed at the substance that boxed her within its keep. It gave off a scraping sound, unlike any she had ever heard in her homelands. It reminded her of a strange metal bird she had met while searching for the other remaining clans of her kin in distant lands. She was beginning to grow frantic when she couldn't locate an exit to the room. With frenzied emotions, she began to force herself into the substance, hoping to break free. Within a few seconds, she felt that same light that had enveloped her previously come forth once more. She shielded her eyes under the fur of her arms. That same voice that called her a 'zangoose' yelled another name that made no sense to her.
"Go Crola and Kaim!"
She shook her head and eyed her surroundings. The terrain was foreign to her senses. It seemed to be some form of wetlands. Tall grasses, muddy floors, and continuous rain pouring from the Sky's Ladle occupied this region. She looked in front of her and saw another one of those odd creatures. This one had a silver head, ruby and coal black fur, and those same pieces of flesh hiding underneath the fur. Its paw also held that same sphere she had seen prior to this meeting.
"So you're Kaim eh?"
She constructed a perfectly arched eyebrow and let part of her lower lip droop. "What kind of fool do you take me as? My name's not Kaim. It's Quick Silver. Who the hell told you it was that idiotic name?"
"Crola, use your tail and pound that combusken!"
Quick Silver looked at the creature giving that beast commands. She felt like slitting its throat right then and there. How dare it interfere with her conversation. Did it not know whom she was? She may not have been revered at that point, but soon enough, she would be.
Crola disregarded Quick Silver's question and rushed to the combusken, lifting his tail in preparation for the slam he would perform. The combusken sidestepped and released a few embers from its beak. Crola's scales darkened where the embers had scorched them. He narrowed his eyes but made no screech of pain. Without command, he pressed forward as a motion of blur and dropped his tail upon the neck of the fire fowl. The direct hit caused the combusken to fall, fainted.
"Return Pyro!"
Crola returned to his previous position with Quick Silver. "Ha, did you see that? You know you liked that, Kaim!" he stated after his profound victory. Quick Silver constructed the same arch upon her face once more. She was growing aggravated about the use of that stupid label she was given for reasons unknown.
'I might as well go with that name. They won't recognize me any other way I suppose. Meh, but does this "Crola" have to be so arrogant?' She mused. Her thoughts were interrupted by the silver-headed creature's announcement.
"I choose you, Conversion!"
Kaim's eyes affixed onto the sphere's turning self within the air's clutches. The crimson covered beam arose from the opening sphere and released another creature. This one had the appearance of a chameleon. She had somewhat blanched jade scales, matching fairy wings, and golden and scarlet streaks outlining parts of her body. She stood on two legs and dashed into battle shooting her stretched tongue at Crola.
"Crola, dodge that kecleon's tongue and use your leaf blade attack!"
Crola leaped into the air and landed behind the kecleon. He placed his forearms in front of his body, stiffening the azure feathers on them. He ran toward Conversion and sliced through her skin with his left arm, then his right, and finally both simultaneously. She fell with a thud and was taken prisoner once more by the sphere.
"Yes! Another one bites the mud!" Crola exclaimed. Kaim rolled her eyes and decided that she best get some answers now or forever be left in the dark about these strange bipeds and their prison spheres.
"Do you rejoice after every skirmish?" she asked with a lax tone.
If Crola had not had a jade complexion, the area around his cheeks would have turned into a flushed blush. Regardless, he regained his composure and replied, "eh...if you want to call it that. Why do you ask?"
"No reason," she kept her icy glare upon his inquiring orbs, "but, do tell me, why exactly were you battling at the whim of that creature?" Kaim pointed a drawn out claw at the strange biped that conversed with the other strange biped.
Crola's eyes glanced at this "creature" Kaim spoke of and then looked back at Kaim. "Oh, that's May. She's my trainer slash friend, whatever you want to call it. You mean you've never seen one before?"
"What's 'one'?"
"A trainer!"
She scoffed, "you mean a slave owner?"
"NO! She's really nice! You just need to get to know her!" he retaliated.
Kaim asked the next question as if she had completely forgotten about the previous one. "Alright, so where are we?"
"Eh...I'm not sure. All May told me is that we're getting her next badge from a gym leader known as Winona at Fortree City."
Kaim closed her eyelids. "...Great...I get captured by a slave owner who also owns a stupid green lizard..." she muttered. She opened her eyes and saw Crola on tiptoes in front of her, poking the top of her head.
"Is your voice broken? I couldn't hear what you said." He teased. Kaim sighed and punched Crola, making him fall over.
"Next query. Who's that other 'trainer'?"
She noted a bit of disgust that lingered upon his forked tongue, "that's Brendan, May's rival. He's the trainer of Pyro, my rival."
"Your rival is a chicken who hasn't been completely fried by KFC? Hell, at least my rivals are somewhat worthy of a fight."
"Hey, hey, hey, Pyro IS a force to be reckoned with! I thought you've never seen a trainer before. How do you know about Kentucky Fried Chicken?"
"I did say that. However, I never said that I haven't heard about them and their shelters." She inwardly smirked. 'Heh, maybe he isn't as stupid as I thought he was.' She cleared her throat, "alright, now WHY was I brought out here and didn't get to fight?"
"Well, May probably put this thing she called 'experience share' on your pokeball. That makes you come out whenever she summons one of her pokemon to battle. It's supposed to help you get used to battles so you'll be prepared for a real battle."
"Pokeball? You mean those prison spheres?"
He laughed, "I can't believe you are so dense! But yeah, those 'prison' balls are used to carry pokemon, that's us, around."
"Watch your tongue. For sooner or later it'll be lying on the ground!" she retracted her claws.
Crola merely shrugged, "so, care to answer some of my questions?"
"Depends. Shoot."
"Uh, why exactly did you kill those seviper?"
She narrowed her eyes and gave the expression that said 'I can't believe you're asking me this'. "They are my...rivals, as you would probably call them."
"That's no excuse to kill them! I mean, you didn't see me plucking out Pyro's feathers did you?"
"Whatever." Kaim watched Crola return to May's side, and she treaded behind him on all fours. 'I must find a way to get back to my missions...'
So what did you all think? Yeah, I know it seemed pretty gory at the beginning, but Kaim had to have some sort of background. Well, please read and review. Thanks!
