DN Angel doesn't belong to me! Its characters don't, either, even though I wish Dark-sama did! lol
"It feels so empty now, without him here with me," Daisuke mused aloud. He stood crouched painstakingly over his latest creation, his painter's apron splattered with a myriad of vivid colors. He stood back from his painter's canvas, neither displeased or dissatisfied with his work; it depicted the one who has once his "other half", Dark Mousy. Mischief and compassion gleamed from within the painting's dark eyes, and the beginings of an arrogant smirk lifted the amorous lips. The glossy violet locks tumbled loosely over the broad shoulders, and Dark's fingers lifted them playfully away from his handsome, ageless face. Daisuke heaved a sigh as he lowered his paintbrush. "I miss that bastard," he mumbled. These days were a mere haze of the excitement he'd lived through in the past year, devoid of any magic, devoid of Dark's wisecracks...
Suddenly With tumbled into the room, squeaking excitedly and leaping onto his master's shoulder. "What's up, buddy?" Daisuke chuckled as he stroked his magical pet's silky white fur. "Someone's here?" The visitor entered without announcing himself, nudging the door aside gently. "Daisuke-kun, O'genki," Satoshi Hikari greeted his friend with a smile that illuminated the ice-blue eyes. "Wanna go out somewhere?" he asked casually. His voice, as usual, was one that Daisuke could never tell was being flirtatious or merely invitive.
He was startled, "I...um...have a girlfriend, remember?" he stuttered nervously. "We kinda had plans today..." his voice drifted off pathetically as Satoshi strode across his small bedroom to gaze at the canvas. "Not bad!" his voice held a touch of pride, as if his lessons in painting were responsible for Daisuke's newly emerging talent. "It looks just like him!" he mused for awhile and said softly, "Miss him?"
"Yeah," hoping his voice would be strong enough to keep out the quiver of emotion he felt.
"I wish I knew how you felt--well I kinda did, when you were in that other world, but..." he thoughtfully pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose, "...that bastard Krad made my life a living hell. He controlled me, used my body...I couldn't do anything against him when he wanted something," Satoshi's body convulsed with barely suppressed emotion. "Wherever he is now...I hope he never comes back,"
Daisuke extended a sympathetic hand and placed it hesitatingly on his friend's heaving shoulder, his eyes widening as Satoshi placed his cool palm over his, trapping his fingers under their vice grip. "Daisuke-kun..." he breathed, and the smaller boy's bright red hair rose in apprehension. Satoshi smiled, the cunning lips almost a parody of Dark's. "Thank you," he said simply, releasing him. "And I still want to go out somewhere. Whatever plans you have, cancel them. Let's do something together."
Daisuke breathed heavily, "She won't like it, but...I'll see what I can do,"
