Disclaimer: Ok I own Era, Daye, The storyline etc, BUT NOT POKEMON!
Era awoke on Saturday morning to the sound of rain hitting her roof. After looking out her window to make sure a squirtle wasn't gone watergun crazy she sighed. Rolling onto her back she stared at the star formation on her ceiling. The stars glowed faintly in the dim room, shaped into a pokeball.
Then she remembered her promise to herself. She was going to go hiking today to keep an eye out for Daye. He had left about two years ago on a pokemon journey and promised that upon his return he'd send out his first pokemon, which would be a golduck by then to great her.
Sitting up she realized that it had been exactly two years since he left. She had turned thirteen yesterday and he had left right after her eleventh birthday. He had said he wouldn't miss it for the world. He had also promised to come for her other birthdays. She hadn't seen him since. Still she prowled around in the woods before and after her birthday just in case.
Sighing she stood up. There was no way she would break her promise, she missed Daye to much. Tossing on the day's outfit, a pair of baggy blue windbreakers and old T-shirt and her waterproof hoody. She also pulled on white socks and her plain boots.
Going downstairs she grabbed some bread and wrote her family a note while it toasted. Gone to prowl the woods again, no worries will be back by dinner -Era
The toast popped and she grabbed it out, buttering the bread then chomping it down and strolled out the back door.
The rain fell lightly and felt like melted snow. The wind blew in from the surrounding trees bringing a fresh scent. Large raindrops splashed on her face causing her to smile. The small dirt path into the forest was a mess of mud and rocks. Lightning crackled through the sky. Sighing she smiled, this scene always cheered her up.
Walking forward she went onto the path. Making a game she jumped along the bigger rocks and stones. The scene stayed mostly the same as she walked along but several pokemon stood out.
A glimpse of some diglett peering out of their holes, a family of butterfree were nestled in a tree and so many others.
When she came to the stream crossing the path instead of jumping over it she waded in, and turned to head upstream. The cold water rose her ankles as she walked against it. The stream was fast but not fast enough to slow her down.
A distance sound of water thundering told her that the waterfall was nearby. Sure enough a few minutes later it came into view.
She watched the sky just about as often and she saw pidgeys flying for home, ratatas peeking out of their holes. If her view hadn't been blocked by the trees, she would have seen a large white shape flying over the forest.
Reaching the waterfall she stood under it letting the rushing waters drench her even more. She started climbing up using vines as handholds when she noticed a small amount of red and white.
She looked at the red and white. Could it be? She thought about it for about 1 second then started pulling away the vines.
When she had finished there was a small round smooth ball with indentations on the sides and top. A minuscule round latch held it closed. The top was a fiery red, the bottom a smooth pure white. It was just about the size to fit perfectly in a human hand. She just held it in her hands, staring at it for a minute.
