"Sticks and stones may break my bones,

But words will never hurt me."

I guess my enemy they'll never know

Or how his words can burn me.

They'll never know how he stirkes me down

By all of the unkind words he'll say.

His tongue is his greatest weapon and

He continually pushes me away.

They'll never know how I ache inside

As he glares at me icily.

He'll never know of the pain that's caused

By the feelings he'll never see.

He'll never know how every night

My thoughts all turn to him.

He'll never how I have to hide

'Cause my hatred's growing dim.

He'll never know how I cannnot stand

The words that he keeps throwing at me.

He won't see that although I'm fighting

I like being left at his mercy.

All of his taunts and jeers I try to ignore

'Cause then he won't leave me alone.

But soon I get sick of his stones and sticks

So I break his every "bone".

Around, around we are dancing

In our circle-so endless and mean.

And once he's done with his insults

In my anguish he'll always leave me.

So sticks and stones can break all your bones

While words you'll always fight.

But no one will know how when I'm alone

My friend's words make me cry.
