Hera sat on the throne, upright and regal she should have been intimidating to the other Gods, but the truth was, she wasn't. The God's were arguing with each other. The throne room shuddered with the pure energy of the divine forces contained within. It was scary just how much each of them could change the course the debate went. Hera sighed, soon someone would lose it and this would mean tears, more dryads and spirits angry at them. She caught Aphrodite's eye who looked wary. Hera gave a slight inclination of her head and Aphrodite smiled and sat upright. Suddenly all the God's stopped with a dreamy expression on their faces, a soft music was twirling around the room, a lilting melody of tinkling bells, a sea swirling on a shore. Everything was stopped, as if in a trance. Then they all blinked dazedly and shook their heads. Aphrodite had moved, she was standing by the doors, she turned back to the Gods who were sat there gaping at her; she laughed and spoke in her most softest voice,
"Let us go, and watch the sunset, I think you have forgotten we must rise above such petty arguments of the mere mortals"
The gods all looked down at them selves, apparently ashamed. Hera smiled, she really couldn't believe Aphrodite's powers, and she kept them well concealed.
All the other God's had gone. Hera sat down on the steps of the throne room, a huge temple at the top of Mount Olympus, and looked down the hill. There were temples dotted about, lakes, fountains and beautiful gardens. Then underneath there was a cloud. They weren't floating on it; it was just a portal to the mortal world underneath. Hera leaned her head against a tall pillar. It was so hard doing this, being the wife of Zeus, Queen of heaven and Goddess of marriage. Everyone blamed her for their own wrongdoings. If there was a argument and the husband left, the mortal women cursed her, saying she was the failure of their love. How can she be the patron of a pure marriage when her own husband had an affair with countless women, with no thought for her, Hera's wellbeing.
