Hi! This is my first "Penderwick" fanfic so um, thanks for reading. R and R!
Chapter 1
"Jane, come on! Does it seriously take you 20 minutes to pack sandwiches? I want to get to Point Mouette NOW," Skye screamed while trying to shove a soccer ball into the very cramped trunk of the Penderwicks' SUV. She stormed into the house and found Jane working vigorously putting in sandwiches into clear plastic Ziploc bags. She rolled her eyes. Skye inferred that she has been doing that the whole time and strode out stubbornly. But in fact, Jane wasn't doing that. She had been daydreaming the whole entire time. About no, not the vacation, or Jeffrey, but no, the person she hated most but at the same time liked him, Dominic. Dominic the Menace, she had named him. She had nicknamed Dexter too as well. But at the same time, she still had feelings for him. And Jane herself found that one of the most weirdest things about herself yet. If Sabrina Starr doesn't like boys, then neither did I, she thought.
Besides Jeffery or course. As she packed the sandwiches into bags, she sneered at them, imitating Skye when she just looked at her a minute ago. She always gets more strict than usual when she is worried. Jane thought concerned as she dumped the ziploc bags into a big huge bag. Some of them missed and smashed into the floor. Just like Dominic's face, she thought bitterly. She had been taking kickboxing lessons from Skye. She paid her with her allowance. And she planned to just uppercut Dominic when she saw him. Just as Sabrina did when she knocked out her nemesis Dominic. That's right, she named Sabrina's enemy Dominic. At this point, she didn't care what would happen if she did. She was mad at him, and waited three years in advance. And she reflected on it, she did realize that in those three years, lots of things had happened. Like writing Sisters and Sacrifice, The first ever play she had written. And then she wrote another play the following year called, I Wish You Were Here Right Now. And how Jeffrey lives with his true Dad Alec once a month up in Maine. And how Batty takes piano lessons twice a week. And how, Rosalind had her first kiss with Tommy. And how Iantha became her mom. And… and… There are so many other things, she thought.
"Jane, get into the car now," Skye yelled, interrupting her thoughts. Jane sighed and lugged the food and sandwiches into the car, throwing it into the back seat. She moved into the cramped car to sit in between the fuming and irritated Skye and the talkative Batty. Being talkative to her wasn't considered bad to Jane. It just meant that she wanted to spread her ideas. She shut the door behind her and opened up her deep green notebook, writing down ideas she brainstormed for the awesome Sabrina Starr. When she looked up, she saw the green evergreen trees of Point Mouette. And she saw… Birches. She gasped started jumping in her seat with Batty. Skye was scheming a insidious plan to get revenge on Jane because they were started late. Rosalind stared out the window wonderstruck. They slowly approached the cottage and when they parked the four girls ran out into the waiting arms of Jeffrey, who was standing in the driveway with Alec.
