I felt my chest heaving as I hid behind the tree, tears streaming down face. I couldn't let him find me. I wouldn't let him find me. He wasn't the same dick ward as before…he was worse now that I knew for sure he was working with Voldemort. Now he was chasing after me to use me against Harry and Ron. I shook my head. Then suddenly, before I could react, his warm body crashed into mine. We landed into the snow and I was struggling to get him off me.
"Mud blood, do you really think you could escape me that easy?" Draco spat venomously. His hands pinning my wrists to the frozen ground, blood running down my forehead. His eyes connected with mine, I wished I could read his mind. I couldn't believe I use to have a crush on this jerk, I thought maybe I saw some good in him. I was way wrong. His gloved hand reached out and touched my dull red hair and almost smiled.
"I'm not telling you where they are, Malfoy. It would be better if you just killed me now because I'll NEVER, and I repeat never, betray my friends." I spat back. His eyes seem to soften.
"Granger, I'd think you know me by now…I don't kill," He started out then smiled ruefully. "I torture."
"No, Malfoy. You don't. Your father does and he is merciless…but you…." I stopped myself.
"But me what?" He glowered at me.
"Dumbledore saw some kind of light in you I think…" I whispered finally. He smirked.
"And why would you say that?"
"Because I do too, Draco." His eyes widen in surprise but before he could say a word, there was shouting.
"HARRY POTTER! DO NOT RUN FROM ME!" Voldemort screamed out and Draco's devious smile appeared again.
"Well that's my cue to leave, princess." Draco whispered in my ear and let me go. He ran off. I was bewildered. He. Let. Me. Go. But why?
