"Crucio!" Vincent Crabbe's face split into an evil grin as Luna screamed and writhed on the floor.
"Stop! Stop!" Neville yelled tackling Crabbe. He couldn't stand to see Luna like this, or anyone else for that matter. There was a bang and Neville flew across the room. Amycus Carrow walked up to the boy and pointed his wand at Neville's face.
"your turn." She said. "Get up. Use a Cruciatus curse on her."
Neville got to his feet and walked over to Lena. He pulled out his wand.
"Protego!" he cast the Shield charm between him and Carrow. He scooped up Luna was now unconscious. He ran out of the room and down the staircase, his mind racing. Where to go?
Then suddenly, he knew. The Room of Requirement. She sprinted to the blank wall and walked past it three times thinking, I need somewhere safe to hide. The door appeared in the wall and Neville opened it. He looks around and stepped inside the room. Inside, there were to have X, a large bookshelf, a bathroom and the walls were covered in blue, Scarlet, bronze and gold. Neville walked one of the hammocks and put Luna in it. Your hair and examined her injuries. A few bruises, a bunch of cut some deep, others merely scratches.
I need something to help Luna! Neville thought trying to remember if he had learned anything useful. He noticed a book lying on the ground. Thousand there before, was it? Neville wondered. He picked it up and turned it over. Gold embossed letters sparkled. Magical remedies and spells to treat the wounded. He opened it up looking for cuts. He picked up his one and pointed it around the room "Accio dittany!" A small brown bottle flew into his hand. He looked back at the book. And stop with the bottle and, hand shaking slightly, Neville squeezed two drops onto one of her gashes. It's healed instantly. The wound looked several days, if not weeks, old. He proceeded to apply the dittany to her wounds. When he finished, he set the dittany down and lay down in the other hammock. He was exhausted from the morning's escape and was ready to take a nap. Before he could do so, however, Luna opened her eyes. Neville rushed over to her hammock.
"How are you feeling Luna?" He asked, concerned.
"Sore. What happened? Where are we?" She looked around blearily. It broke Neville's heart to see her like this; weak, broken, lacking her usual quirkiness.
"We're in the room of requirement. Crab was… Torturing you. I grabbed you and brought you here." He said, his voice breaking on the word "tortured".
"Thank you Neville." Luna said, putting her arms around him. Neville hugged back, burying his face in her shoulder and inhaling her scent.
"You looked so broken" he whispered, tears filling his eyes.
"I couldn't let them do that to you!" Neville said fiercely. He tightened his grip on her.
"I-" he pulled back so he could see her face. "I can't live without you."
Luna's blue eyes widened.
"I think the Wrackspurt are affecting you, Neville." She said, not believing what he said.
"NO. The Wrackspurt aren't affecting me. I have liked you since I first had a real conversation with you. You're sweet and strong and quirky. You're unique and not afraid to show it. But there is one thing I'd like you to be."
"What's that?" Luna asked, trying to hide her disappointment.
"Mine." He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her.
