Hollyleaf was crippled under the piling earth. She opened her mouth to scream but the earth filled her mouth to the brim. Her struggling was to no avail and she could feel herself giving in to death that wavered over her head.

Hollyleaf thought of her brothers Lionblaze and Jayfeather standing just above her unable to save their own littermate. She wanted to wail and ball up like a lost kit, but she could even move a paw. Hollyleaf could feel her eyes glaze over slowly. Goodbye she said wordlessly to the forest.

Sol watched over the young she-cat with his milky eyes filled with worry. He gently patted the she-cats back to remove the rich earth. The more earth he uncovered the more he began to recognize the young cat.

"Hollyleaf," Sol tried desperately to control his voice, "get up you are ok."

"Wha" Hollyleaf stirred.

The tom felt instant relief and laid down to watch the she-cat. He knew the clans despised him, but the clans would respect him for finding the young warrior. Maybe enough to offer me some prey and herbs he thought greedily.

"W-Where is everyone?" Hollyleaf swayed.

"How am I supposed to know?" He snarled.

Hollyleaf eyes darkened as she let her fur bristle. That fox-heart! Then suddenly she realized she wasn't furious at Sol, but her lying mother Leafpool. She tore at the grass just thinking about Leafpool.

"Want me to take you back to your precious clan?" he sneered.

"No." Hollyleaf meowed.

Sol was taken aback. Was this the same cat who respected the code? Damn. He shook his head. What would have made this cat so furious?

"I want to join you," she said slower " I want to end someone that deserves to rot…."
