I have been here…
For a long time…
Tattered white robes shuffled to get comfortable in the golden light of the desert outside.
But…
In my time here…
I have learned much…
I have learned all I can…
A ribbon, several yards long, coiled itself around and around the room. It drifted almost weightlessly in the calm breeze blowing through the smooth sandstone walls of a ruined hut.
So long…
The old traveler shifted once again, causing its infinitely long trail of dusty white fabric to drift through the room once more like an agitated serpent.
The white robes lifted to reveal shining yellow eyes that silently spoke of eons of ancient knowledge locked away in the mind of the old one.
A sound…
The old traveler looked up, turning slowly to see something it had not seen in many years.
A familiar silhouette, very much similar to its own, stared back at him curiously with a golden gaze. It raised it's dark face to the ceiling and let out a myriad of notes. I beautiful song that the old one had longed to hear once again. The new stranger stepped closer, kneeling to get closer to the old traveler.
The old one looked up at the newcomer, not knowing what to do or think. It had been so long…
Another call came from outside and the red hood spun around. It let out another stream of notes before rising up and turning to leave.
The old one's eyes widened. It wanted the red one to stay.
It began calling to its soul, gathering energy from all the knowledge it possessed. After a few seconds it raised it's face to the sky and let out a single solitary note. The note raced through the doorway and through the desert. But it did not call the red one back.
The old traveler sank to it's knees, alone once again…
Meanwhile…
Far, far away…
A white robed hood stuck itself out from behind a crumbling sandstone pillar.
Yet another Journey had begun...
