But Still She Loves Me

Yes...I see this in my hand. It's my…it really is my… He studied his hand, taking in every little detail. So...I really do have a…?

"Ulquiorra!"

Who's that that calling my name?

"No! You just leave him! How could you forgive him after all the things he's done to us!"

So Kurosaki is alive… The woman must have healed him.

"Please! Let me by... I- I can bring him back!"

That woman can be so stubborn.

"No Orihime! He's a Hollow! He's done nothing but kill!"

Well now, he's one to talk.

"P-please Kurosaki-kun, you don't know that!

The woman...she's crying now...

Ulquiorra gathered his strength and tried to sit up. His efforts failed so he just looked up."Kurosaki," he said in a crisp, blunt tone. "Do not make the woman upset."

Ichigo looked quite taken back by his order. The Soul Reaper's expression changed from confusion to rage. "Oh yeah!" he yelled angrily."And just what are you gunna do about it!"

Ulquiorra closed his eyes. He was weak, in fact, he was dying. "Well, frankly I can't do anything."

"Ulquiorra!"

He looked up and saw her—Orihime Inoue.

"Please, let me heal you!" She knelt done beside him.

Ulquiorra sighed. "Woman, you are thick-headed."

Tears began to form in the corners of Orihime's eyes. "B-but why!" she cried.

Ulquiorra didn't answer. Instead, he reached up and grabbed her shoulder. He slowly pulled her down until they were in a hugging position. He wrapped his arms around her tiny waist and gave a small squeeze. His action caused Orihime's tears to increase.

"W-why?" she sobbed. "I can bring you back!"

"I know that you could, but think about it. Would I be happy that way?"

Orihime froze. For a brief moment her tears stopped and she was silent.

"You see," continued Ulquiorra. "I have failed in defeating Kurosaki. Therefore, I have failed Lord Aizen. I am no longer of any use to him. I have no place. The Soul Society would turn me back, Lord Aizen would kill me." He looked at Ichigo with narrowed eyes. "It really is a wonder that Kurosaki hasn't made any moves to shut my mouth now. You see, I have no place."

Orihime brushed some hair from her eyes. "I do understand," she muttered. "In this world you are like an Outlaw. You no longer belong to either one of the sides."

Ulquiorra gave a light nod. "Yes, finally you understand."

"But...not in my world!"

Ulquiorra looked at her with wide eyes.

"Y-you could come with me," Orihime said in-between sobs. "You can live in the human realm!"

Ulquiorra's eyes grew wider at every sentence that came out of the girl's mouth.

"We could be...a family! Please Ulquiorra, please!" she cried.

"That's enough!" Ulquiorra lowered his voice. "That's enough." He tried to smile. "Why would you want a Hollow like me in your little world? Like Kurosaki said, I've killed countless times without hesitation or the slightest thought. I could summon the last of my strength and kill you with a cero right now, but still you…"

Orihime pulled away. She looked down at her feet.

Ulquiorra looked at her. His eyes traveled down to her dress. "Well," he said softly. "It seems that I've stained your dress. I'm sorry about that."

Orihime looked at the black stain on the front of her dress, and then to his hollow hole, which was oozing black liquid.

"Oh," she said. "It's quite alright. I don't think that I'd want to keep this..." Her voice trailed off.

Pure silence.

"Ulquiorra?"

"Yes?"

"I am not afraid."

"I see."

Then he was gone.

I'm a monster, drenched in blood and surviving by killing. I nearly killed several of her friends and almost killed her as well, but still…she… But still she loves me.

A/N: That was my version of his death and also my first romance story. I hope you liked it!

EDIT: I fixed some of the spelling/grammar.
