Pairing: Kate/Teyla (friendship/slash whatever way you want to see it)
Summary: Just a little bit of Elizabeth seeing the joys of being in Atlantis…
Disclaimer: Stargate Atlantis and its characters aren't mine and will never be mine. If they were, things would be very different. Ideas, characters and whatnot that my muse, Kate, came up with are mine, and cannot be used without my expressed permission.
Author's notes: Whipped this up in record time for "Celebrate Elizabeth Weir", which has a different theme each week as long as the celebration runs.
The sun rose from the ocean below, into the sky illuminating the planet and the city. She watched in awe, standing alone on her balcony. Her hair fluttered in the breeze, and she smiled. She thought of all the sunsets she had seen so far and found she liked the ones on Atlantis the best. She sighed and took a sip from her hot steaming coffee. She felt the hot liquid make its way down into her system, smiling even wider. She turned at the sound of the door opening and closing, observing Teyla dragging a reluctant Kate out onto the balcony.
"Elizabeth." Teyla smiled, a glimmer of something Elizabeth identified as pure mischief in her eyes.
"Good morning." Elizabeth greeted in return, noticing Kate blushing a bright red. "What are you doing?"
"We are going to have a spitting contest." Mischief indeed.
Elizabeth choked on her coffee, spluttering through her surprise. "What?"
"John explained the rules yesterday when we were waiting for Rodney to finish his tour of the Zapolian power plant." Teyla stepped up to the railing, glanced down and nodded appreciatively.
"I should have known he had something to do with this." Elizabeth shook her head. "It's not something grown-ups engage in ... much."
"He said he did it all the time." Now it was Teyla's turn to look surprised.
"Well, that's Colonel Sheppard for you." Elizabeth shrugged. Teyla's face fell and Elizabeth could have sworn there was a pout. Kate, on the other hand, seemed to be glad she didn't need to participate in Teyla's new found game. "Weren't you supposed to go to the main land anyway?"
"We don't have a pilot to get us there." Kate said. "Everyone's busy."
Elizabeth glanced between the two women who were now both pouting like little children. "If you two feel up to it, I was planning on making cookies today."
"Cookies?" Kate's face was the first to light up.
"Yes, cookies." Elizabeth nodded.
"With chocolate?" Teyla's eyes turned wide with anticipation.
"Possibly." Elizabeth smiled. "Shall we go then?"
"Lead the way!" Teyla stepped aside to let Elizabeth pass, making sure Kate was following in her footsteps. "Mmm... Cookies!" She added as an afterthought, making both Kate and Elizabeth chuckle.
