Tomoyo sighed, idly toying with the flower display at the café table she sat at, her thoughts once more straying to that of Sakura. The latter's behavior today was normal…at least, as normal as one could be after confessing ones feelings of love, having those feelings returned, and being forced to say goodbye to the one she loved in the same day.

"Of course, this doesn't mean I stop being Sakura-chan's friend." Tomoyo reminded herself, keeping an eye out for her chestnut haired friend who was supposed to meet her for lunch.

"You look like you have something on your mind, young lady. Want to talk about it?"

Tomoyo looked up, and saw an older woman in a white dress and sunhat sitting across from her. "I'm sorry, I'm waiting for someone right now…"

"Oh, that's okay…I won't be long. You just looked a little lonely." The woman smiled slightly.

"What are you, a mind reader? I've never been that easily read before." Tomoyo thought, but did not say it. "Maybe…but just until my friend gets here. Then I won't have a reason to be lonely."

The woman fingered her chin thoughtfully. "But…wouldn't that make you…more lonely?"

Tomoyo considered this woman carefully. Tresses of slate grey hair hung down to her waist, with the bulk of her hair hidden in the hat. "Who…are you?"

"There is no wrong answer when choosing between those who love you." The woman placed her hand gently over Tomoyo's and rubbed it. "They all want, more than anything else, to make you the happiest."

Tomoyo breathed in deeply, shuddering slightly. "That's what I want…for her."

The woman stared gently into Tomoyo's eyes. "Is it fair to deny her another choice?"

"It's what…what she wanted."

The woman giggled slightly, a red tint gracing her cheeks. "I do not regret the choices I made in life…but I learned a long time ago to never assume I know what others want."

Tomoyo looked confused, and slightly hurt. "I don't understand…what are you trying to tell me…?"

The woman stood up, walked around to Tomoyo's side, and knelt next to her. "Just…next time, my dear…" she began, gently combing Tomoyo's long, lavender hair with her thin, pale hands. "…next time…let yourself be a choice. You both deserve it."

Tomoyo was frozen. Unable to move or speak, only stare at this woman stroking her hair. The woman stood up slowly, gave Tomoyo a cute smile, and turned to leave. At that moment, Tomoyo found her voice, and unsteadily whispered, "…after all, you do know her the best."

The woman turned and knelt before Tomoyo once more, gently grazing her forehead with a feather light kiss. "…and you're the one I trust most."

Tomoyo's eyes fell shut, and a tear escaped her eye.

"Tomoyo-chan? Tomoyo-chan! Hello, are you alright?"

Tomoyo opened her eyes to see Sakura's emerald green ones staring back in concern. She giggled. "Yes, Sakura-chan, I'm fine. I was just getting really hungry waiting for you."

"Ahh, I'm sorry! Let's order now, I'm starving too!" Sakura exclaimed, plopping down in the seat and grabbing a menu.

"If there is a next time, Sakura-chan…I will tell you."

"…good girl."
