Another fic that's done on request/as a present. Takes place after the "Thin Dead Line".

Untitled Wes/Angel

When he dreams, he sees Angel. Standing in the corner, blending into the shadows.

Shadows. It's night, of course. Which means that it must be a dream, they don't allow visitors at night and even Angel wouldn't really be stupid enough to break into a hospital, would he? Of course not. Not for Wesley.

So it's okay when Wesley gives the Angel in the corner a dopey, welcoming smile. It's okay because he's not angry at dream Angel and he doesn't need to pretend for the sake of the others when all he really wants to do is to crawl to Angel's side and curl back into those strong arms. Arms that were supposed to stop things like this from happening. Maybe he does harbor some resentment towards even the dream Angel.

Angel looks surprised at the smile. Even looks around him to check if there isn't anyone else in the room. Then, he tentatively smiles back and takes a step forward. Wesley holds out his hand to encourage and Angel takes it when he's close enough.

"I missed you," Wesley quietly confesses. Which is okay to do here, it's okay to confess. It's okay to say how lonely he's been, how much he wants Angel to come home, how much he hates this stupid charade and how much he hates hating Angel. He says all this out loud and is met with Angel's pained look.

I know, Wes. I'm so-"

"Don't you dare say you're sorry." A bit of anger flares up, but only a bit and not for long. It's too hard to hold onto here, he's too tired of it. "Not when you don't mean to do anything about it."

Even dream Angel knows better than to say anything to that and they both fall silent. Angel's hand still holds his, tight and cradling and everything that Wesley misses. But it's not enough and it won't be until Angel comes back and does something with his apology.

Wesley had been worried about that day. Not that it would never come but that he wouldn't be able to accept Angel back.

Now all he's thinking is how much he misses Angel.

Forgiving him will never be a problem.
