Whisper of the Night
Author's Note: This is pre season 4, so... no spoilers for whats going on right now. Also, I wrote this so that my friend could kind of understand it. I don't think she did, but she liked it =/
Disclaimer: I own nothing! I do enjoy watching the show however!
She walked, head turning left and right. With each turn, new doorways appeared, and the hallway extended another ten feet. She was scared, oh so terribly scared, but she forced herself not to run. She took deep breaths as she focused on her goal: reaching the end. As she walked, however, the doors turned into portals, looking glasses of a sort, each showing her darkest fears until there, at the end of the impossibly long hallway, she stood face to face with her own worst enemy. There she stood face to face with herslef. But she was different; it did not dawn on her what it was. Her eyes, once bright and shining, now were like dulled metal, cold and calculating. Her mouth, once turned into an ever present smile, now seemed to be pulled into an eternal grmiace, as if she never liked what her eyes were showing her. Even her hair seemed to reflect a change for the worse; her once flowing waves now were pulled back into a serious bun. Her reflection beackoned her forward, and she went, helpless as her feet dragged her to the window that ended the hallway. She was forced to watch as her counterpart smirked, drawing back the curtain that covered the sheet of glass. She let out a terrified gasp as the scene unfolded before her. Her friends, once standing beside her, left her one by one, each abandoning her, before she is left all alone, one mere soul fighting agasint all the darkness. And it was a battle she was losing, that much was clear. She tried to turn away, but was forced to turn back, to watch what was soon to be her fate as she felt her reflection whisper into her ear. This is all yours now. Enjoy.
Melinda shot up out of her bed, breaths coming in pants. she could feel tears start to roll down her cheeks, but she didn't recal ever crying. Looking over to Jim, the ghost whisperer (as she had been so aptly nick named) hugged him close. She stayed like that for a while before slowly falling back into another restless sleep.
Somehwere else in Grandview, Tom Gordon sat back in his chair. "It's only a matter of time now. You will be ours, Melinda."
