Usagi lost control.

In her room she danced, losing all sense of self- only feeling the freedom and beauty of the rhythms of her own body as she moved to the music.

Sailor Moon danced too.

Both girls were tired, so very tired, and they danced to fend off the loneliness, the isolation and the fear that so suddenly filled their lives.

Usagi was happy to have someone that felt the same way she did- even if the person was herself. Sailor Moon was special to her; Sailor Moon was her guise and set her apart from everyone else. Usagi was scared and hid behind the brave and powerful Sailor Moon knowing Sailor Moon was there to defend. Usagi saw herself as nothing like Sailor Moon but idolised her. Sailor Moon was Usagi's hero.

Sailor Moon faced great evil and danger every night and defended the earth from terrible, violent creatures. Every time she reduced a youma to moon dust, she felt the innocence of her alter-ego slip away, Usagi lost a little bit of herself every time the remnants of a youma were blown away gently in the breeze. Sailor Moon was afraid too. She never wanted to take up arms- she was never destined too, but in light of danger she did.

And for what reason? That she discovered as she went along. For family, for old friends, for new friends, for people she never met, for people she past on the street each day- for everyone. For their safety and happiness, their dreams, souls and future.

Both Usagi and Sailor Moon spun around in flowing, graceful circles, picturing themselves as the mysterious princess- graceful, beautiful, with the power to end their suffering as heroine and girl. The princess was their goal, they would find her and she make everything go away- she would fix everything. At least that was what they hoped.

Sailor Moon, during the fierce battle, would mutter to the missing princess, willing her to end the fighting as she dodged painful attacks…

Usagi would fall to the foot of her bed, tired and sore, crying out to the princess to spare her from this fate…

And so they both danced. To anyone else it would have looked like a teenage girl spinning about in her room, but to both Usagi and Sailor Moon the dance saved them.
