It was insane how easy it was to gain access to the Department of Mysteries. All you had to do was go at night, use an invisibility cloak to sneak into the corridor, use a few unlocking charms and use undetection charms, and Wham! You're in the revolving room with all the doors. After you choose a door, mark it and enter to explore. Every time you enter another door in the revolving room, you just have to remember to mark it. When every room has been explored without touching anything, you just creep back up into the exit and you are in muggle London. Though, I must admit, it did get harder after Harry and his friends were down there. But nothing like that will stop me from going. Ever since I was 10 I had gone down there, to watch, look, and listen. I had discovered it when I saw this redheaded fellow using it. I am what they call a "street-rat", and you know, I actually stole the fancy invisibility cloak from some blonde of a fellow. Never knew I took it, that's why they call me "Quicksilver". Oh, and by the way, this diary I'm writing in? Stole it off some chap on Kings Street. With the pencil too. Right, so back to business. I am currently about 15 years old, with mismatched eyes: one blue, one bright green. My hair is red with two streaks framing my face, one black and the other white. I like to be clean, which is difficult considering I live on the street. That's why I learned how to read and write, see? I wanted to be civilized, something my fellow street-rats can't appreciate. Well, I'll tell you also why I found out about the Department of Mysteries. I had this dream, that directed me to the Department, and showed me exactly how to get there. A few nights I would even explore other parts of the Ministry, that's how I learned of magic. I got into this archive place, with shelves, upon shelves of documents. It took me a few years to finally read everything, but it was worth it. What I don't get is why you need a wand to use magic, I mean, I've been doing magic so far by just pointing I want and thinking or saying what I want to happen. Weird. Maybe they just hadn't tried it for a while because they were scared of not getting results. Whatever. It works, that's all I need to know.
