Hey Yuuri, it's Gonna Be Wolfram

A/N: This is a songfic to the N*Sync song "It's Gonna Be Me" so definitely go listen!

Summary: Songfic. Yuuram, with implied SaraxYuuri in the past. Yuuri's been chasing other girls... and guys... for too long. All it does is get him hurt. Conrad is watching the two of them interact and makes a few undeniable observations. To the song It's Gonna Be Me by N*Sync.

Ever since they'd returned from Shou Shimaron, Conrad Weller found himself wondering what had transpired between the young, impressionable Maou and the manipulative Prince. He hadn't asked about that time, when Saralegui had mysteriously run off with Yuuri at the moment the insurgent soldiers appeared. But he wasn't blind-- something had happened that the Demon King didn't want to talk about. After all, Yuuri was only a child.

You might've been hurt, babe

That ain't no lie

You've seen them all come and go, oh

Now, there was a subtle change in Yuuri. He was not quite as carefree, not quite as spontaneous. It hurt Conrad to catch those black eyes staring pensively into the night, when they used to sparkle with creativity. Yuuri, what has happened to you? Surely Wolfram had noticed. His little half-brother might not be the expert on emotions (okay, that's a huge understatement. Wolfram knows almost nothing about other people's feelings!), but he did spend the bulk of his time following Yuuri. Sometimes Conrad caught them talking in the courtyards, and hid himself quickly. Like any good bodyguard, he never left the scene. Too much had happened to Shin Makoku's king; propriety was no longer an issue. But even as he tried not to listen...

I remember you told me

That it made you believe in

No man, no cry

Maybe that's why

It pained him to hear Yuuri tell Wolfram about his worries, about things that were beyond his control. It was evident that Conrad's little brother was becoming the Maou's only confidant, and that intrigued and dismayed Conradt. He'd always prided himself that he had his King's trust, and now-- well, he wasn't too certain. But this discomfort was nothing compared to Wolfram, who was agonizing over Yuuri's problems, and trying desperately to cheer him up. With Greta's help, Wolfram plotted small ways to show the young Maou how much his family loved him. A picnic by the waterfall. A compilation of paintings, by Wolfram and Greta, of the three of them together. A batch of home-made cookies, in animal shapes to please the little Princess. But every gift was taken with a small smile and a sigh, and nothing could pierce the haze that surrounded Wolfram's fiance.

Every little thing I do

Never seems enough for you

Once when the couple was talking, Conradt heard something disturbing. He tried to shut it from his memory, so that he wouldn't hate the Prince of Shou Shimaron, but he confided to Yozak that it was difficult to imagine an alliance with such a leader.

You don't wanna lose it again

But I'm not like them

Wolfram took Yuuri's hand as Conradt watched from around a giant column, in the deserted stone courtyard. The blonde showed signs of weariness; this was the third night they'd spent awake, under the sleepless stars. Despite all the times he'd mocked Yuuri, calling him "wimp" and "cheater," it seemed Wolfram really did care for his fiance.

Baby, when you finally,
Get to love somebody

Guess what,
It's gonna be me..

So there's my first stab at Yuuram in a long time. Was it crap? Did it make you laugh? Let me know!
