Sometimes, Audrey thought things had been simpler when Nathan and Duke had been in the midst of their feud. It had certainly had less potential for embarrassment…well, less potential for her embarrassment.

On a particularly gorgeous summer night, the three of them were sharing a meal at the Lobster Shack, eating at one of the outdoor picnic benches. All three of them were snickering over some outlandish story Duke was weaving and Audrey doubted there was a lick of truth to the tale, but whatever, it was funny.

Then Duke's eyes ticked to the side, drawing Nathan and Audrey's gazes to the table where Dave and Vince Teague were watching them with interest.

Audrey gave the two of them a wave and when she glanced back at her friends, she saw matching, devilish glints in their eyes.

Shit.

The feud was totally easier to deal with.

"Well, this has been a lovely meal," Duke said, stretching his long arms up in the air.

From his seat, Nathan grinned. "And great company," he remarked, reaching over to snag a surprised Audrey by the hand. Sneaky. She'd been keeping a wary eye on Duke, 'cause he'd been the one in motion.

Oh, Duke had grabbed her other hand. They were working as a team.

Each of them was smirking as they planted a warm kiss on the back of the hand they held. She couldn't help but blush.

Over at their table, the Teague's were staring, wide eyed. By breakfast, the entire town would be tittering about the Nathan/Audrey/Duke ménages a tois dinner and be speculating about what they had gotten up to after.

Looking from one man to the other, she couldn't even form words to toss at their grinning faces.

Oh, what the hell. She could play too.

"So, you guys gonna make good on this little tease or am I kicking both your asses?"

The startled fear in their eyes was so worth whatever rumors the Teagues were going to start.

Comments, pretty please?
