He walked slowly into their bedroom as not to wake her. A complicated mission had made him late that evening. Tangled up in a mess of red sheets was his precious princess. Her long black hair flailed over the pillows as she slept. The moonlight haloed her silhouette, drawing him to her. As he crept closer to her, he could see her clutching a pillow to her chest.
She needed something to hold on to. It was always that way for her. When she found something special, something she wanted, she had to make sure it was real. She always held him close, they could be sleeping or just sitting at the kitchen table, she had a body part touching him somewhere. She felt connected to him, he understood that. After a long line of suitors who only wanted her title, she was relieved to have someone who wanted her for her. It made her even more clingy, but he didn't mind. He loved that she clung on to him, that she valued him that much. As he crept closer, he smiled realizing she was wearing one of his old shirts as well.
He attempted to pull the pillow out of her grasp to slip in beside her but she wouldn't let it go. Thinking for a moment, he lifted up the blankets and lied next to her, taking in the sight of her beautiful face, eager to see the gold embers hidden behind her closed eyelids. Sliding a hand down her cheek he pressed a kiss to the skin and added one to her forehead before she awoke slowly. Her eyes shined when she saw him, releasing her hold on the pillow and throwing it to the side, she threw her arms around his neck, burying her face in the crook of his neck. She whispered soft words of love into his neck, alternating kisses on his skin. He only held her closer, taking in every inch of her that he had missed through out the day. She kissed him once before settling against his chest, falling asleep again, snuggled up against his body. He fell asleep after pressing a final kiss to her cheek, extremely content to cling to her as she was to him.
