It seemed to me that I was walking around the Realm of Darkness for ages, just going around in circles. There had to some way out of this hell. I looked down at my keyblade just to do something. The Master Keeper was still in top shape even after all these years it was not properly handled. "Even if it's a keyblade, it should at least have rust on it or something," I told myself.
"Hey, is anybody there? Hello!" I could not believe my ears, a voice, a woman's voice. An actual person was here with me. When I turned around, I noticed a girl with eerily pale skin approach me. Her red hair was sloppy held by a ponytail. Freckles were sprinkled around her face, heavily focused on her nose. For her outfit, it was jeans that were a little torn and void of any other color than black, and her top was a shade of light blue patterned with the occasional swirl of white or gold. The strangler's shoes were covered by her very own jeans. Her emerald green eyes shined against the background of darkness.
"I wonder how she's like," I thought out loud. Suddenly, the girl ran up to me and hugged me really hard. I could have sworn I felt my life being drained out of me as I wanted to blush. Like, who seriously just hugs a random stranger?
"Oh my god, I've been alone for so long! It's good to finally meet somebody else that's alive...and sane!" After a few seconds, she let go of me. "What's that weapon you got there? It's doesn't look it would help us in this situation because it looks like a key. Is this like the key made of something that makes it a blunt weapon?"
"Um...my name is Aqua. What's yours?" I asked her awkwardly.
"Yeah, we should introduce ourselves before doing anything else? I mean, who would want to tell anything to a random person they know nothing about? Simple, my name is Tanith," she responded quickly. I wondered why she was here, but that might be too personal to ask now.
"This is the keyblade, and it's name is the Master Keeper." I pointed at my weapon. Before I could respond, shadows appeared from the ground, staring us down.
"Dammit, we've to go now!" yelled Tanith. She grabbed my hand, not knowing I could fight these fiends.
"Wait, I can fight them!"
"Don't be absurd." I lowered my blue eyes. She must have thought I was crazy, but I could not blame her. Most people would have called me insane for just carrying a giant key around all the time. "If you fight those things, they'll just kill you. I've seen a person like us try to do that once a really long time ago. Anyways, we all just want to get out of this hell."
"That I can agree with. I don't know how long I've been down here, but now I just want to make sure my friends in the Realm of Light are safe. You know, I made a promise to one of them." We then reached a dead end, heartless still coming.
"Of all the times, it had to be now that they decide to ruin my day." Tanith seemed to be checking her surroundings. Her green eyes traveled everywhere they could, but her face had defeat written all over it.
"Let me take care of this." With my keyblade, I attacked the nearest monster which happened to be the weakest form of them. It disappeared in only a matter of seconds. I noted that there were only ten more of them, so I used deep freeze. They were all enslaved in the ice and vanished after it wore off.
"Woah, your weapon really does damage towards them."
"Wait, how could you even survive here if you've no weapon?" I questioned. This intrigued me, for I never really meet anybody like her. Granted, the last person I meet was that mysterious man in a black coat.
"For me, I just run away and hope for the best. Heck, Aqua, if you weren't there, I would've probably been a goner."
"No weapon? Wow, you must be a pretty good runner then," I commented. Tanith being able to do that made me feel a little bit more hopeful for the future. Underdog stories like hers always were the ones that motivated me to do better back in my youth and even at that moment. Master Eraqus used to tell us about how he was never better at Xehanort or Angwusnasomtaqa, his other friend. He would always tease the girl about her really long name though before she kicked his ass.
"Hey, Aqua, do you want to become travel buddies?" questioned Tanith. She broke me out of my trance. The redhead had eagerness painted all over her face. "I really don't want to just run away from those guys anymore. It's kinda stressful to do that all the time."
"Sure, Tanith, I just we can." A slight smile sneaked its way on my face. I had not smiled since the day that Ventus' and Terra's will came to save me from my own hopelessness and learned about Sora.
