Kaminari

-A Naruto fanfic

(O…kay, this is actually my first ever Naruto fanfic and a SasukexSakura pairing at that. Well, it's Sakura-centric. I hope I did a good job. Reviews will make me the happiest!)

When she was a little girl, a loud crash followed by a deafening roar is her fear.

She was a daughter of two shinobis and she would become like them in the future. Therefore, she shouldn't feel fear.

At least, that's what people tell her. "You're a shinobi. Fear is inexcusable".

That's when she concluded that adults are narrow-minded. She may be a shinobi, but she's also human. Therefore, fear is normal.

A loud crash in the heavens sent her hiding inside her closet.

Time passed and she grew to be a shinobi, her fear slowly being locked away in the past as she faced more challenging and life threatening missions. During the stormy nights, she no longer hides in her closet and tremble in fear as numerous clash and rumbles can be heard. She thought she overcame the fear that invaded her life. Finally, she can be proud to say that she's a shinobi.

But she was wrong—very wrong.

She can vividly recall the boy she fell in love with charging at their own teammate as he draw all his chakra to attack him.

His technique was perfect—almost beautiful, yet it was blindingly bright to the eyes.

It was during that time that her fear came back and intensified.

In the end, everything has come to this.

She was quite surprised that she could pull off a trick like putting her teammates to sleep. Regret filled her mind and she felt horrible for leaving them in spite of the help they had given. But resolve dominated her entire being. She vowed that she would not be a burden anymore, that she will end the sufferings and pain that her selfishness had caused her friend, that she herself will kill the very man that caused all this.

As she jumped from tree to tree, she promised that she will leave behind her fear.

The conviction that consumed her rivaled that of the technique that once blinded her.

When she reached her destination and saw that same white light, she no longer trembled.

Instead, she stood on her guard. Never would she fear that light again. Never would she let him hurt all of them anymore.

She raised her eyes and met his.

"Sasuke-kun, this time that light will not send me running away. This time, that very light you perfected will be my guide…to kill you."

(A/N: Yehey! Finally done! For those who didn't know, "kaminari" is the Japanese for "lightning". Sakura's fear is actually lightning. This story shows how the very thing she feared was used by her loved one, Sasuke and in the end, how she used that fear as a motivation to kill him. The last scene depicts the part where Sakura confronted Sasuke in the Five Kage Arc. By the way, the last lines were not spoken out loud (in case you're wondering). They are merely Sakura's thoughts. I don't know if you got my point. I really find it difficult to explain it in words. Sorry! And thank you for reading. Please do leave a review.)
