Title: "Part of the Crowd"
Summary: The tight sensation in my chest, the realization I had thrown aside, breaks loose. My body goes numb as I let the truth wash over me. My King, my dear Mikoto-san, you're truly gone, aren't you?
Disclaimer: I do not own K nor any of its wonderful characters. I own my OC, though, aka, the narrator.
I stared numbly ahead at the setting in front of me. My eyes, the dark green that I despised yet came to love because he liked them, held no emotion as I continued to watch for any sign. He had to come back, he couldn't just leave us, abandon us. He was the one that brought us together, our ruler, our King.
My mind can't come to terms that he really is gone. His bright, fiery red hair should have been popping up any minute, and the familiar sweet smell of his cigarettes should have filled the air. The tight sensation in my chest, the realization I had thrown aside, breaks loose. My body goes numb as I let the truth wash over me. My King, my dear Mikoto-san, you're truly gone, aren't you?
"No Blood! No Bone! No Ash," my fellow Clansmens cheered with sorrow mixed in. I stay there silently, listening to them grieve in that special way. The same way that we always do when we loose a member. I can't bring myself to join in, though. Not when I learned that phrase from the dear King of us Reds.
I was just part of the crowd, I think numbly. My brown hair is pushed by the wind, a few of the smooth strands irritating my face. My body feels heavy as I allow myself to believe what I had always known. I was nothing special; just another person in the crowd of people the Red King had surrounded himself with. Nothing more, nothing less.
But I don't believe it all the way. I looked at Anna, the silver-haired princess of our Clan. She smiles sadly, not shouting with the others but looking as though she is mentally. The right-hand man of the King is next to her, saying the phrase with everyone else. And then, of course, the hotheaded redhead, Yata, was crying as he yelled.
I let out a sigh, hands clenching into fists. My brown bangs hang in my face, shadowing my eyes. I take a deep breathe and look up at the sky, watching as the red orb leaves me, the last remaining thing that ties me to the Red King.
My King, my dear Mikoto…
"No Blood!"
You didn't see them as just a crowd, did you?
"No Bone!"
They were family to you, right? If that's so, then…
"No Ash!"
I'm happy to have been part of that crowd.
AN: Sooo, I currently got into the K-project series. XD And that's about it. I cried (I don't cry at sad anime. Seriously, I don't. I got past Angel Beats without shedding a single tear) at the ending, and immediately got an OC idea…yeah, this is a one-shot, so, yeah…
Anyways, please review! Tell me what you think! :D Is my first-person point of view good? Terrible? Please give me feedback!
