"Wow," Kid Flash breathed as he took in the scene before him. He had come to the park looking for Jinx. He had just found her in a little grove of trees surrounded by about twenty big black birds and about half as many black cats.
Jinx looked at him from where she was lying on the ground. "Great. I was almost asleep," she muttered. "What do you want?"
"Umm…Jinx? Why are there so many black birds and around you?"
"Think about it," she said bitterly, "Crows, ravens, black cats … and me." This last part was laced with emotions that the speedster couldn't quite identify.
"You're all bad luck?" he guessed.
"No. Just misunderstood." Kid Flash could identify the emotions now. Pain, loneliness. "Just misunderstood…"
