Author's Note: Okay… here are a few new and fun responses to discovery! Hope you like!
Adrien slammed his back against the door, and knelt to the floor, clutching his head in his hands.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was his lady.
Marinette.
The shy girl in class who could hardly speak to him.
"She was right," he groaned. "Shit…"
It hadn't been his intention to see… she should have picked a better place to de-transform than an empty classroom with a door ajar! At first, he'd been ecstatic, of course; it was obvious to everyone that Marinette was in love with him. If Marinette and Ladybug were one person…
And then it hit him. If she found out who he was, everything would change.
She never spoke to him as Adrien. She couldn't look him in the eye most of the time. She would certainly not act the same way she acted with him as Chat.
Well, maybe she would, but it was unlikely.
"What do I do, Plagg?" he groaned, pulling at his hair. "She's going to kill me if she finds out."
"Then just tell her it was an accident. Or that you, oh I don't know, see her in class every day and as Ladybug every day and of course it was her do you need to get your eyes tested?"
"I can't tell her who I am now! She's in love with Adrien-me, and if she finds out that I'm also Chat… what if she doesn't talk to me anymore? I love talking to her, and being comfortable with her, and just… this could change that," he sighed, getting up and looking out the window. "I can't tell her."
"Um, Agreste? You realize she's not going to be happy when she finds you out?"
"She won't find out. Ladybug cannot find out that I'm Adrien Agreste."
"I mean, that you knew her secret and didn't tell her."
Adrien groaned, and collapsed on the couch. "She will murder me, won't she?"
"Drama queen much?"
"Shut up much?"
…
"You stole my cell phone."
"Yes."
"You have pictures of me all over your wall."
"Uh-huh."
"You mapped out my full schedule and have it hanging in your bedroom."
"Technically, yes."
"Just… making sure I have those facts straight."
"Sorry."
He looked up at her, expression totally deadpan. "And in all of that stalk- er, observing me, it never once crossed your mind that this could be a possibility?"
"No… I screwed up."
He held his fingers a hair's width apart. "Teeny bit."
Marinette sank into her mattress. "How do you know about the phone thing?"
"That's what you have to say? No, 'sorry I missed every damn sign you showed me?' If you have to know, Anya told Nino, and he can't keep a secret to save his life… unlike someone I know."
"Like you're so much better!"
"I've known for months, Marinette!"
"I'm sorry I'm not a good enough stalker for you!"
He turned to the window, and rubbed his forehead. "I feel like you don't even care."
"Of course I care, Adrien, Chat, you have to believe me!"
He turned back to her, a big grin on his face. "Only kidding."
"… You're dead meat, kitty."
…
"You… I… nope, no, no way, this is… are you saying that you've been in love with me this whole time, but I've been saying no to chase after Adrien, and he won't give me the time of day because you're secretly Adrien and you were in love with Ladybug who's actually me?"
"… Um, I assume so? You're talking really fast."
"This is so complicated… but I guess what I'm saying is we need to just… figure some things out. Now."
"Yes, my lady. That was kind of the point of this… I take it you, ah, know me?"
"You could say that…"
…
"So."
"It's you."
"This is…"
"Awkward…"
"We've made out."
"Holy shit."
"Maybe… we don't talk about this in school tomorrow?"
"Deal."
