"I thought you said you knew what you were doing." Lavender Brown was cautiously eyeing the structure Seamus had been rigging on the bridge for the past 20 min.
"It's alright, love! Really!" He called from below.
"Bu-" Lavender spluttered, indignant. "But I'm afraid you'll get hurt, Seamus!"
She could hear his laugh echo around the open night air. It seemed oddly out of place, concerning that what seemed like the whole world was preparing for battle. "Me! I'm at more danger in Potions class than I'm down here!"
Lavender smiled for a moment. But only a moment before she heard them coming. Cries and shouts of War from over the hill sent the adrenaline shooting around her body. "Seamus!" She screamed as hard as she could, her stomach coiling up in ten different types of knots. "Seamus, they're coming!"
A sizzle and a pop were heard from the enchantments around the castle as the force field gulped up and obliterated the Snatchers who were stupid enough to keep running even when their leader had stopped. They recoiled, panic on their faces. For most, that look stayed. But for some, it was replaced by malicious sneers.
Seamus had heard the Force Field react to the Snatchers who hit it, and immediately summoned his crew up from the bridge. "If half ovit goes down, we got a helluv alot less to worry bout then if it stood compleatly." He swung his legs over the side and onto the bridge. Lavender engulfed him before his foot even touched the wood. He smiled as he hugged her back, kissing as they pulled apart. "Let's take a little field trip, shall we?" He smiled, his eyes lighting up in the moonlight.
She giggled. "Where to!"
He grabbed her hand. "Back to the castle to learn first hand how Snatchers look when they figure they've been tricked."
She smiled at his sense of humor. "Well, what are we waiting for, teacher?"
With that, he clutched her hand in his sweaty one and raced down the bridge toward the castle. The castle that had been their home for 7 years. And they were more than willing to protect it.
