A/N: A quick little oneshot that I was inspired to write one day. Please tell me how you like it!

I've always been baffled by her.

From the moment I saw her at the Chuunin exams, she puzzled me. She was so sure of herself and—what's the word I'm looking for? Oh, cocky, that's the word,—cocky. See? She still perplexes me.

Her hair style, audacity, bluntness, power, strength, interests, patience, love for peace, and the amount of time she can spend with me without getting bored are all things I can't figure out about her.

Oh, how can I forget the thing that befuddles me most?

Her speech.

She talks sharper, more precise, then anyone in Konoha. Where I slur my words, she separates them and makes each word like its own sentence.

I once asked her about it and she shot the question right back at me. I replied with a shrug and she did the same. Then she made her loosing move in Shougi, got up, and walked away happily.

Again, I was left feeling totally upside down.

Another thing about her speech that sets her apart from anyone in Konoha is her overuse of the word "Oi".

It is used by her as a greeting, a good-bye, a curse, an item, and everything in between. She uses it as much as I use troublesome.

I'm fine with it. I like her quirks. It's what makes Temari unlike any other Kunoichi.

One day, as she walked into Konoha, I waited for her and she greeted me with the usual.

"Oi, crybaby. You're lucky I'm running late because if you weren't here by the time I got here, you'd be dead meat." She said with a smile in her precise Suna accent. I grunted in reply and she walked past me and on towards the Hokage.

We spent the week doing the usual things: playing Shougi, eating at Konoha's odd restaurants, her making me show her the best places to shop, and her whacking me over the head with her fan when I said or did something wrong.

At the end of the week, I went to pick Temari up at her hotel.

"Oi, lazy." Temari said tiredly as she grabbed her gear and walked out the door.

"Oi, Temari." We both stopped and looked at each other.

'Great, just great.' I thought. 'That damn woman is rubbing off on me.'

She opened her mouth to say something smart but stopped herself and shook her head. After the initial shock was over we continued to walk down the main street toward the main gate.

"So when are you going to be back?" I asked just to make small talk.

"Probably in two weeks or so." She said back. We arrived at the main gates and we stopped to say our good-byes.

"Have a nice trip back and don't get hurt." I recited my good-bye as I did every time she came.

I waited for her usually reply but I was instead met by a quick peck on the cheek from her.

"Troublesome," She muttered, "you're rubbing off on me." She said before she turned and hopped away into the trees.
