The first time Jack saw Omi again after so many years, he felt his heart thumped. Omi had grown taller, with lean muscles dominating his beautiful physique. The monk must have been a few centimetres taller than Jack now.

Jack blinked several times, and pointed a finger at the monk, "Omi? Is that you?" Omi only grinned brightly, and hugged Jack close.

"Jack Spicer! It has been such a long time since we have crossed paths! I have missed you so!"

Omi was still polite and punctual with his speaking, but that was beside the point. Jack never had anyone say they miss him before; the most he got was a brief hug from his parents when he finished his studies in Germany and came back. Omi, a monk he hardly knew only during his time fighting and searching for the Shen Gon Wu's, had hugged and proclaimed that he missed him. Jack's heart thumped for the second time that day.

Omi was still hugging him, and Jack felt his face grew warm. He quickly pushed Omi away, and coughed awkwardly into his fist. Jack didn't expect such a warm welcome, but that didn't mean he hated it. Why else would Jack come to the temple first thing after he dropped his luggage back home after his 5 years trip to Germany? Jack knew somewhere in his heart, he sees the xiaolin dragon of water as more than a frenemy, but he was also too afraid to face it.

"Don't hug me, it's weird."

Omi was the one who tried to know him better, and gave him a chance to become someone better. Unfortunately, Jack still found it hard to accept the fact that Omi treats him with so much love, and the fact that Jack might have fallen for the monk long before he realised it.

Omi slouched a bit and pouted, "But Jack, I've missed you so much in these 5 years! Don't you…miss me too?"

Jack felt a twinge of guilt wrenching his heart; he quickly shook his head and denied it. "No! No no no! Of course I missed you, I miss so much!" A tingling warmth bubbled inside him as he finished his sentence, and Jack felt himself smiling a little.

"I miss our fights for the Shen Gon Wu; I miss challenging you to xiaolin showdowns; I miss the excitement of facing you again every time I work on new robot inventions, and I miss…" Jack paused and glanced briefly at Omi.

Omi was looking at Jack with big bright eyes, and he was smiling. Jack felt a blush coming on, but he kept going,

"And I miss you, Omi…"

Jack stood in silence for a moment, before he felt himself being swooped into another affectionate hug. They hugged each other in silence, enjoying each other's warmth while the gentle breeze blew and kissed their cheeks.

"It is late, you should stay in the temple for the night." Omi spoke in a soft whisper, and Jack noticed that the sun has indeed started to set.

Jack merely nodded, and let himself be led into the temple with Omi's hand resting on his lower back. It had been a chilly night, but Jack felt warm and contented as he slept next to the monk, wrapped safely and lovingly in his arms.

"Good night Jack." Omi mumbled sleepily, face nuzzling into Jack's soft hair. Jack closed his eyes tiredly, and whispered in return,

"Good night, Omi."
