Summary: D2; from the eyes of the Ducks left behind
Authors Notes: Hey people, I had this idea come to me the first time I watched D2. So here it is.
ChapterĀ 1
They left us behind
It was all over the news. The team that Gordon Bombay had led to the State Championship was going to be part of Team USA. But some of the Ducks weren't. No one ever said that. They just said that 'Bombay's old Ducks would be joined by some of the top players from around the country.' Yeah right, but they had to make room for those players, by ditchin us.
"My brother is going," Terry said as we all met the day their flight left, Terry had decided not to go see his brother off with the rest of his family, and just came here with the other left behind Ducks. "He always was better at hockey than I was. Glad at least he got to go."
"All I hope is that Connie does not become the only girl on the team. You boys drove me and her crazy, is she's alone, she'll probably shoot somebody." Tammy Duncan said. She missed the Ducks, but at least she and her brother could figure skate, what were the rest of them going to do? Karp was now in New York, his parents decided to move to where he had more family.
"They all were the best players of us, we may have all been a team, but those are the guys that could have made it without us, we needed them to even score a goal." Tommy stated and everyone agreed. "Did any of you guys think that we wouldn't be left behind?"
It was now Peter's turn to speak up. "It's not that I didn't expect it, I just didn't think they would do it. What ever happened to all of the 'Duck fly together' stuff? They flew off and left us here." Peter never thought that his friends would up and leave like this, leaving it for the newspapers to tell them what had happened to the Ducks.
"I know what you mean. But did they really have a choice? Could every single one of them pass up an opportunity like this? With all of the scouts there, I have a very strong feeling that Cake-eater and Spazway wouldn't. Even some of the other who are not as crazy about hockey as they are. Some of them probably look at it like a free trip to LA." Said Terry.
"Are you saying that Ducks may fly together, but only as long as the Duck pulls its weight?" Peter asked, the Duncan siblings were watching the exchange with curious glances.
"I am saying that Ducks may literally fly together for a short time, but if an old friend was in trouble, they would be there in a second. They will stay together, in spirit if not physically."
"I guess your right, but I don't have to like the fact they left me behind. I know I would probably be killed over there, but I still want to be with them." Peter said. He just stared off into the distance.
"We all do." Tommy said, and silence broke out over the table. The only sound that could be heard by them was the quacking of a flock of Ducks flying overhead, then the sound of a plane, that still didn't drown out the Ducks.
They all smiled at each other, then promised to meet at the Duncan house to watch the first game on TV. They would still support the Ducks, even from this distance.

AN: So what did you guys think? Should I keep going? Or should I just quit and laugh at my idiotic self. You can only tell me by REVIEWING. (hint hint)
