A Vignette For Mother and Son

Warm. Yes, that's it; warm. Warm geletin, catching him inside of it's rolling mass. Holding him still, safe, as it bubbles up around him in thick globs. He uncurls from a fetal position, stretching out until his hands and feet hit soft walls, containing him in the small space. He kicks softly, foot pushing into the "wall" and rebounding gently. He takes a deep breath and his nose, mouth and lungs fill with the jelly water and he jerks in surprise when he doesn't choke. Cautiously, he takes another small, more tentative breath; the results are the same. Realizing that he must have been breathing in the geletin before without any negative consequences, he forced himself to stop trying to breathe and to focus on what he could feel in his surroundings. There wasn't really too much of interest until he heard a soft sound seeming to come from all sides, but predominantly from above. The sound was melodic, soothing him into a gentle sleep. It was so warm and cozy, what else could he do?

":Floating in the sunshine

Butterflies fill the air;

Sleep now my little baby,

For you I'll always be there.:"

Shiori smiled at the sleeping form of her red-headed son; love radiating from her so as to be almost tangible in the air surrounding them. Her son really was too old to be watched over in his his sleep, but she couldn't help it. She just loved him so much. The red-head sighed in his sleep, a small, contented smile graced his lips, melting his mother's heart. She leaned over and placed a loving kiss on his forehead, "Sleep tight, Shuichi; I love you." Silently, she left the room, door clicking softly shut behind her.

In the darkened room, the boy glowed with happiness.

A/N: Okay, how odd was that? Review me and I'll be forever in your debt! Mwah! Oh! And don't steal the little poemy-thingy because, awful as it is, I wrote it.
