Disclaimer: I don't Danny Phantom, or any of the related characters. Yeah, like, I wish.

Sam sighed impatiently. "Danny," she said, "you fly everyday. Why should driving be any more nerve wracking? Seriously, you'll be fine."

He sat in the passenger seat and blinked at her. "Sam, don't ask me why, but driving totally creeps me out. Give me a break!" Then he looked around at the empty parking lot they were in. "And do we really have to practice now? What about tomorrow?"

The girl crossed her arms. "No. You're almost 18, Daniel. You are definitely old enough to drive a vehicle. Get out of your seat."

"Daniel?"

"Right now. Go!"

Danny sighed and swung his legs slowly out of the car. Sam scooted over to the now-empty seat. She gave Maddie a thumbs up and called, "Thanks for letting me practice with Danny, Mrs. Fenton! I promise I won't let him crash your car."

Maddie laughed. "Yes, please don't crash it. That car is the first time in at least ten years that Jack has agreed to buy a normal car. I'd like to keep it for a while."

Sam laughed too. "No worries."

She turned to the driver's seat. Danny was sitting anxiously in it, gripping the wheel tightly. Huffing a little giggle, the girl asked, "You ready Danny? This won't be hard at all."

The teenager grinned. "I'd rather just ditch this and take you to the movies or something."

"Cute, but no." Sam paused, "Actually, how about this; I won't go out with you again until you are able to drive me, for once, to the movies. Okay?"

The big blue eyes were pleading with Sam to change her mind. "What if I say no?"

"Then we'll ask your Dad to practice your driving with you again."

That was out of the question.

"Why couldn't I get Mom to help?" Danny asked, tapping his fingers nervously.

Sam just shook her head. Maddie had already given up. That's why they were practicing illegially. (Technically Danny should have had an adult over 21, but since he was the famous ghost boy, Maddie had decided Sam would do fine. "You're a first class driver, sweet heart.")

He sighed loudly. "Okay. If I have too." Then Danny shook his finger at her. "But just know that every day I can't go out with you will kill me."

Laughing, Sam cupped his face and kissed him lightly on the lips. "To tide you over." She explained simply. He opened his eyes longingly, staring at the violet-encased lips. "It's not nearly enough."

"Okay," Sam instructed, "you know how to start the car?"

"Turn the key away from yourself."

Sam looked at Danny, her violet eyes dancing. "Then do it!"

"Okay…" The engine rumbled to life and Danny looked for further coaching.

"Hold down the brake and shift it into drive."

The two practiced for at least a hour until Danny was able to park almost perfectly and was able to make a few loops around the lot. He looked at his girlfriend. "So how'd I do?" He asked, seeming a bit more relaxed now that the car was quietly sitting in the spot.

"Good." Sam smiled, "How long will it take until you can get us to the theater?"

Danny grinned. Leaning out the window he called, "We'll be back later, Mom!"
