Rain or Shine

Summary: Xiaoyu expects Jin to shut her out of his life again, but he surprises her.
Author's Note: Here's the Xiaoyin one-shot I promised. Please read, review, you know, tell me what you think about it in general. I've written Xiaoyin fics before but I'm still not as comfortable with it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Tekken.
"Jin, if you'd just tell me what's going on, maybe I can help you!"
Xiaoyu sighed as she watched Jin's retreating figure. She steeled herself, and followed him. I've seen this happen too many times before. I'm not letting him do this to me again!
The sky was a pale gray even at four o' clock in the afternoon, and the ominous black clouds at the horizon warned them of rain. The school day had just ended, and she wanted nothing more than to talk to Jin. The past few days, though, he'd been like this – mysterious, brooding.
Spiteful.
How could he keep doing this to me? She hurried her pace as he hurried his. She was going to corner him, and talk to him, no matter what happened.
That was when the thunder sounded. It was hard and gave a strong impact to the air that almost knocked her off her feet. It was going to rain, she knew, and so she broke out into a run.
Rain or shine, she was going to get through to him.
She saw him take a right turn, and noted that he was just… strolling. As if he thought he'd lost her.
Hah. I don't give up that easily.
"Jin!" she called out when she reappeared right behind him. She stood between him and the path he tread on, all of her skinny frame completely in his face. Her expression softened. "Now, you're going to tell me what's wrong."
He looked away, and the look in his eyes was stressed, pressured. "It's nothing, Xiao. Leave me alone." He tried to walk past her, but there was no way she was going to let him go. Not when she'd come so far.
"I'm not leaving you alone!" she screeched. The droplets of rain had begun to fall, softly at first. "I'm your friend, Jin, can't you see that? I'm worried for you. Please, tell me what's wrong."
The rain started to come down in torrents, drenching them both. Neither moved.
"I…" he sighed, his brown eyes closing as he looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry, Xiao. The tournament… Grandfather… training… everything. It's gotten on my nerves. I'm really sorry. For everything."
She certainly hadn't expected him to apologize.
"It's not that I'm mad at you, Xiao. It's just that a lot of things are getting on my nerves lately. Can you ever forgive me?"
She smiled.
There she was, Ling Xiaoyu, an expert in the martial arts of Hike Ken, Hakke Ken, and Bagua Fist, grinning, and soaking wet in her Mishima High uniform.
And there he was, Jin Kazama, learned in the Mishima style of fighting, his hair and clothes matted with the rainwater, staring at her expectantly.
And she hugged him. "Of course, Jin. You're forgiven."
Both of them stood there, in the rain, and slowly, she thought she felt his arms circle around her, as well.
Author's Note: Okay. Sorry that it was so short, but will you still review?
