Professor Giles McFarlane arrived at the scene of Baron Arald's former office, where Will was caught sneaking to look at the fated piece of paper. Audrey (his favourite assistant) had discovered something, and whether his more frequently aching back liked it or not, he had to know.

"Professor! Professor, I think I've found something!"

He couldn't help but be caught up in her excitement as he replied enthusiastically,

"What?"

His assistant reached up, over the rotten wooden cabinets and the mouldy paperwork. Just above them, she chose a spot and deliberately rapped it with her knuckles. "Here that?" (He certainly did). "It's hollow!"

Before she finished her sentence, he gravitated to Audrey's position and was uncharacteristically excited.

"I think we might have another story about the Rangers." He couldn't suppress his exhilaration.

Giles pushed firmly on the wood, and to his surprise, it opened with a subtle click.

He took out the manuscripts ("With them closed in like this, it would take them ages to rot") and unexpectedly gave them to Audrey. The young assistant took it, bewildered. "Why did you give the paper to me, Professor?"

"You deserve the honours." The professor answered firmly.
