Rain
By: Skywalker2101
You feel the cool rain dribble down your cheeks, melding with the warm tears that fall with them. You want to keep steady on your feet as your jet black robe is soaked in nature's tears, but the pillar you had always clinged to isn't coming home again. You stand before a grave; his grave.
Your pillar's grave.
More of your tears fall down your cheeks. He would want you to be happy when he was gone, but you are far from the happiness you had when he had been there.. The part of your mind that craves the fact that he is alive by some miracle absently feels the warmth of his arms around your waist.
You sniffle; you realize you have a cold on the way. You absently rub at the wedding ring perfectly sized at your left hand's ring finger. You miss him already; it has only been a few hours and you miss him to the point that you want to join the only love you have ever known at the grave.
You imagine him in the back of your mind, almost feeling the tears you wipe from his cheeks. You know he misses you, too. There is the lone fact that you miss him so much more. Your fingers rub at the knife at your belt.
You close your eyes and imagine him: his hair all gold and shining brighter than the sun with his eyes that familiar bright sapphire blue and his prosthetic right hand beckoning you to join him. You remember how you had loved- and you still love- the most famed man in the galaxy; how you had loved Luke Skywalker.
How could you have actually called yourself his wife? You failed at being his lover, the one he trusted with his life. Your failure had cost him his life.
The pain of his loss is too much to bear.
You plunge the knife through your chest. You give a small smile of satisfaction knowing that you will never be separated from your one and only true love again.
