Mine
Akane sat alone in the dark, unable to focus on the book she had been dying to get to the end of. To find out whether the two main characters would confess their love.
She sighed. "It doesn't matter either way, I've got my fairytale ending."
"Akane, will you-"
She nodded frantically, moving down to his level. "Yes."
Only yesterday did she discover he was hiding an engagement ring from her, but she felt like they'd been together a lifetime.
Akane looked down at her right hand and watched as the ring glimmered on her finger. It was beautiful. But... How did he know she would like it and where did he get the money?
She hoped it wasn't too expensive.
Perhaps he borrowed money from Nabiki. But... How would she find out. It's not like he would be completely open with her about that, and if Nabiki didn't know about what he used it for, she might pry, and try to find out from her.
She decided against it.
Maybe it doesn't matter
, Akane thought. If Ranma wanted this as much as she did, all of her love would be enough in return. All of her life given to him.
Akane smiled.
together, maybe they could make things work. After all, once they begun to tell people, they would most probably back off now. Now they were truly engaged. Most willingly, too.
Butterflies in her stomach, Akane shuffled into her covers excitedly.
He was her actual, proper fiancé. Hers.
And she was his.
