A/N: Thanks to Fredbassett for betaing this.

Sarah walked into the infirmary just in time to see Becker pulling on his shirt.

He turned at the sound of her footsteps and winced at the sudden movement.

"Anything broken?" she asked.

"No, just sore," he replied, leaning against a table. "How's your head?"

Her fingers grazed the large blue-purple bruise that ran from the right side of her temple to her cheek bone. "Aching," she answered, "I just came in to get a Panadol."

They all knew where the painkillers were kept without having to ask one of the medics and she walked passed him to the cabinet to get some.

"You know I don't blame you, despite what Lester said."

She turned to look at him. "But Lester was right, I shouldn't have helped Helen."

"Lester wasn't the one stuck on the other side of an anomaly with Helen Cutter and her clones," Becker asserted.

Sarah looked down and shook her head slightly. "I could've lied about what those hieroglyphs said."

"Then she probably would've killed us both." Becker took her hand and she looked up at him. "She already had an idea what it meant; she just wanted a second opinion."

"But if -"

"You did what you had to, to keep us alive and I'm grateful."

"Look at you being humble," she teased, to lighten the mood.

He shrugged. "Stranger things have happened."

"Yeah like Helen Cutter actually keeping her part of the deal and getting us home safely." Becker chuckled at that and Sarah became aware that he hadn't let go of her hand. "So you saved my life, I saved yours; I guess that makes us even."

"No."

She gave him a look of surprise which changed to shock when he pulled her towards him and kissed her.

"Now we're even." He winked at her, and walked out of the infirmary.

"Yep, stranger things have definitely happened," Sarah thought, but she couldn't stop a smile from spreading across her face.

A/N: I do have some ideas for the back story for this fic, it's just finding the time to write them that's the problem, well that and the whole 'my imagination has gone on strike thing'. As for why I posted this now *shrugs* it's been sitting on my laptop for weeks staring at me plus I wanted to give you proof that they will get to this point in the long run - and it will be a long run ;)
