Gellert loved to play the piano, almost as much as he loved Albus.
The beautiful sound that came from the wooden piano was peaceful, soothing. No matter how old he was, he would spend countless hours sat on the chair playing randoms tunes that popped into his head. The sun was slowly setting over Godric's Hollow, the sky a brilliant mixture of orange and pink. What was left of the sun was casting long, black shadows across the ground. Gellert stared lazily out of his window, his face softening as he watched Albus greet his younger brother and sister back home in the front garden. Closing his eyes, he let his mind wander to Albus. His beauty, his energy, his being. To all the great things that they would -could- achieve together. Upon opening his eyes, he noticed that Albus and his siblings has retreated inside. Sighing, he turned to the piano that his Aunt Bathilda had allowed him to use. He knew what he would write, it was obvious. The melody came easily, soft and sweet. All his feelings towards his best friend went into it, earning it the title, "Albus' song."
As the years went by, the tune became sadder, more painful. Although played each and every night, the song never lost its meaning. It soon became the most painful reminder to Gellert Grindelwald that he would never lose those feelings for Albus Dumbledore.
