Darkness fell over the kingdom, clouds replacing the previously glittering midnight sky. Thunder boomed from afar, rain poured down mercilessly; heavy drops of water drenched the earth in only a matter of seconds.

A flash of lightning illuminated the dimly lit castle chambers, followed by another deafening sound of booming thunder. Yelping in surprise a toddler sat up from her bed, ocean blue eyes frantically darting over her large dark room. The pink walls seemed to move in the girl's perception, they seemed to want to press her in and the toddler breathed erratically. Dark and tall shadows loomed over, she saw sharp hands raising and reaching out to her. It brought an unwanted shiver down her spine.

She needed to get out.

Now.

Scooting over the the side of the bed, the little girl jumped down from her silky blankets. She hugged the brown bear wearing a forest green bow around her arms, the stuffed toy nearly twice the size of her small body. Ignoring the icy chill that came with walking barefoot on the polished floor, she skipped out of her chambers, heart beating wildly inside her small ribcage as the shadowy figure seemed to follow her throughout the dimly lit halls. It horrified the little girl to see the figure hold its hands out to her, tears threatened to escape her eyes as she whimpered in fear.

Taking a sharp turn she ran faster, entering the hallways that led to her parents chambers. She could no longer hear the rain nor the thunder, only the wild beating of her heart. Crashing against the cream coloured door of her parents she knocked as hard as she could. Papa would be mad... But she was scared. The figure only kept following her and she wanted it to stop doing that.

"Mama" She whimpered , shaking in fear as thunder echoed loudly throughout the empty palace. "Please let me in"

She would have gone to her sister, but she never opened the door. Not even when she pleaded and cried.. No... Elsa wouldn't open the door to her anymore. Not even if the boogie man was going to get her.

She sobbed quietly, knocking at her parents doors but they didn't answer either. She was alone... And now the monster was going to get her.

"Leave. Leave me alone!" She cried, yelling the dark walls. The boogie man only seemed to take even more pleasure at seeing her sob. The figure seemed to laugh. "Please go away" she whispered, pleading for it all to stop.

It shook its head, claw like hands held out to grab her again, the girl hugged her teddy bear in front of her, she covered her eyes and expected to feel the same horrible feeling of being in pain inside out. The same feeling of her breath being squeezed out of her lungs, the dark loved to watch her in pain. It loved torturing her and he haunted her ever since Elsa left her. Now he had come to hurt her again...

An agonizing moment passed... She felt nothing.

The toddler dared to open her eyes slowly... What previously were dark and empty halls now glittered with ice, snow powdered her nightgown clad shoulders and strawberry head of hair. She blinked repeatedly, looking at the shiny ice at awe.

Where they had come from she did not know... But then a tall and slim boy walked into the room. She was taken aback at how white his hair was... His too pale skin seemed to glow in the moonlight... That was wrong... It had been raining.

She frowned deeply. Where the shadow went and what happened to it , she didn't care anymore... She returned to staring at awe of the pale boy that appeared in thin air. He smiled comfortingly a cold hand clasped her small shoulder and he gazed deeply at her with his breathtaking sapphire eyes.

"You're safe" his soft and melodic voice said "You can open your eyes now, Anna"

The toddler furrowed her brows in confusion but before she could ask, darkness overwhelmed her... And then the warm rays of light streamed through her window... Blankets tucked up to her chin and she sat up, looking at her surroundings, she realized she was back in her room. Warm and safe...

It was a dream...

... Or was it?
