The Dark Haired Stranger
By Britney Alaine Erhardt
Into the darkness you climb when the flame in your heart blows out.
When the emptiness inside you grows into a giant, tall and stout.
There is a castle in which you live, dark and empty as you.
And the only emotion it stirs inside you is a deep and terrible blue.
There is no light inside your darkness, just pits and pits of despair.
At least until an ember was sparked by he with the raven hair.
You never had much reason to be empty, yet darkness consumed your soul.
But all was mended by a pair of green eyes and hair as black as coal.
"Why don't I know him?" You think, as the spark grows a little brighter.
His lithe body moving toward you, shadowy locks making his skin glow whiter.
He cups your face and inside the ember ignites your fire,
Filling you with unexplored feelings of desire.
"I love you" he whispers, obsidian curls filling your vision.
Sweet chaos blossoming within each of you like the aftermath of a head-on collision.
Your lips meet the forbidden taste of his and suddenly the world has a different hue.
And the demons and nightmares all fade from your view.
With hands crafted of his devotion he pieces together the shattered fragments of your heart.
Until you suddenly remember he'd been yours from the start.
It becomes evident to you now that no matter the hardship or danger,
You will always find your way back to your beautiful dark haired stranger.
